omg go to the hospital lmaooo. I had acute appendicitis last week. twas not fun. No worries. I went (hence the lack of sleep). No stones and I’m otherwise healthy, so they offered surgery or antibiotics. I chose the one that wouldn’t cancel a vacation for the third time this year. Surgeon said he’d do the same thing. oh you got lucky! well if it ever happens again and you're not on vacation, the surgery wasn't bad lolol |

Who would’ve thought it would be Wenaas to look like option #1. Love to see us pull out a good win with Skinner having her worst match in a very long time even though seeing was a bit of the problem I think it has a little to do with Madi being the number one scouting target. They had her number. But Wenaas stepping up was great to see. |

They did that last match too, right? No, last match against Louisville the sets were 24-26 and 20-25. The shellacking came in set 2 18-25 The second set was due to 8 service errors. They played well enough to win otherwise. The 3rd and last sets were a mess. And they faded badly at the end of both. Sheff started talking a lot to Charlie about the 3rd. |

Takeaways:
1. Franklin is still the best in the country just got gassed - she needs help to get the job done against the best teams!
2. Sheffield’s lack of adjustments from set to set lost both matches (maybe because of a lack of bench and Orzol needing more time?)
3. The liberos/defense need WORK
4. Smrek needs to be more terminal or shouldn’t be in the lineup - she has been a liability (would have loved to see Robinson on the right as an adjustment)
5. Charlie is good and will continue to get better just lacks experience. This is being particularly magnified by the caliber of teams Wisconsin has in the beginning of their schedule. She will continue to get better and be a great asset as the season goes on. Not too worried at all about her abilities.
6. Hopefully this first week helps Wisconsin make adjustments and focus on changes that need to be made.

Looking at the box score, the Wisconsin zone four production is in serious danger. Didn’t Devyn Robinson play OH at some point in her career at Wisc? Could she be a solution, or did her back row play never steady? Also, how is Anna Smrek struggling so? Ugh 😖 6’9”. Is it the set height? Watched her last match when people said the sets were too low. But even when getting blocked by much shorter players, Smrek’s arm was fully extended and she jumped on her attacks. I don’t get it. Maybe she’s trying to put the ball down mid court. Idk. And the littles for Wisconsin have not littled yet. It’s early. (Deep inhale. Slow exhale.)

I could've swore a poster said that Cook recruited Hord so that she woudn't go to Texas Hord played significant minutes at Nebraska, so I don't buy this narrative. She was unlucky that the Huskers didn't have a setter that could get her the ball consistently. Hord had some connection issues at Penn State, too. |
