With the exception of a ball off the block or an occasional tip, they aren’t defending. Krause has 8 digs in 11 games. Landfair’s defense isn’t keeping her behind Krause. Suggesting a former POY is going to sit all year after 3 matches is absurd. She. Cannot. Pass. And. Cannot. Defend. SHE. WILL. IMPROVE. SHE. WILL. PLAY. MORE.

SHE. WILL. IMPROVE. SHE. WILL. PLAY. MORE. Why talk about GBR in a Wisconsin/Texas thread? Great point. I was responding to a post that criticized a NE player. A very good player with recognized achievement that @sportybucky was being very critical of. Jealousy I think. BTW TX looked very good. Back-to-Back-to-Back good. ARGH!@#$! WI appears to have many challenges. They need to get healthy and stay healthy, especially at OH.

Have a question for TX. How, with half their players seeing little or no playing time, do they keep everyone happy? The easy answer is being a student athlete at Texas is a great situation to be in, but we still see transfers out, even ones who do play sometimes just like every other team. (Fields, Iosia, Petersen, Crownover, Pierce, Parra, Sun, Williams, Cabello, Gabriel). My daughter, who is fully grown now with a family of her own, enjoyed a nice career as a scholarship player at a pretty good mid-major program. As we were watching this match together, I asked her, what if you were a bench rider at Texas? She said "I ain't leaving!". I asked what if you were a walk-on & you could likely get a full ride at a smaller program. She said "I don't care what you offer, I ain't leaving that Texas bench. I'd be the best practice player he's ever seen for 4 straight years & he wouldn't even have to look my way on game day" 😂 Granted, she had no illusions about a pro career after college so that full ride was a major blessing & set her up for a debt-free start to real life. As someone who's worked in college athletics for 13+ years, she's had a view from the inside of five different major programs. Hence, she stands by her statement -- I. Ain't. Leaving. Texas! (hypothetically of course 🙂) So there's that, for what it's worth lol

Because it's Texas or because of the reputation of the Texas "culture"? Does the Texas culture even have a reputation in the player's world?
OR, if you switch the name from Texas to Nebraska or Wisconsin or Kentucky?

Neither Smrek or Booth could kill a ball, that didnt help (neither did general misconnects) Wisconsin passed 2.48 (!!) in rotations 5/6 (the one where trinity was the only front row pin) and they hit .082. Booth and Trinity both hit negative.

To be fair, her answers were centered on Texas because that's the match we were watching. But yes, you could really insert any other program with Texas-level resources & her answers would be pretty much the same, excluding the few she absolutely hates of course.

it’s what Hailey and Bailey required. They will never make me hate her. Ever. Can we get her to coach Charlie? She needs to get her sets up a little higher for our taller players :-) To be fair, Charlie has only had 3 weeks with these players and it's not like there are a ton of 6'9" and 6'7" people in the world to practice with... It's the first two matches of a 30 game season, she's going to be fine, better than fine. SMH

Wisconsin's offense is so mess
For Smrek Rot 1: 12 swings (no Sarah front row) Rot 2-3 with Sarah: 9 swings (hit .000) (Sarah hit .303 in these rotations)
Sarah hit negative in Rotation 4, which I find interesting. (I'd have to see what happened)
I'll be very curious today if franklin gets switched to OH1 and/or if Devyn gets moved to opposite for Smrek

But honestly, you could substitute most other programs with Texas-level resources and her answers would be the same, with a few exceptions due purely to hatred lol. Having a different perspective & being as closely involved with athletics as she has been in her career, she knows a good situation when she sees it. And she knows those members of Texas B side of the court are in a great situation, in terms of perks & resources.

Just from watching on VM, both sides serving strategies were.... something. I wish we would hear more from coaches about what they're thinking/trying to do.
