Tough road trip. Hopefully Caroline is able to travel and play, although I thought Lily played much better Saturday.

This would be a great win for both teams, who are likely competing for similar standings in the conference.
The UW block needs to focus on Terry.

If Mosher’s serve is on and she can get anyone besides Terry going it should be a good match. Otherwise it’s Washington in 3

The Huskies & Ducks have improved from last year. Expect them both to take Indiana 3-0 and Illinois 3-1.

Time for Illinois to put up or shut up. Illinois wins its first match at Washington Illinois has beaten UW in Seattle. In the 2018 Elite Eight, an Illinois team led by Poulter and Quade beat the Huskies in four sets. I was there. I recall thinking that Poulter might have been the best setter I had ever had the privilege of watching live.

Illinois is good enough to get a playoff bid if they take care of USC, UCLA and Washington.

I stand corrected. That's what I get for relying on ChatGPT -- it gave me absolutely incorrect info (which I've seen it do before), and I should have corroborated it with official NCAA stats. You are right, Illinois beat Washington in the round of 32, in Seattle, in 5 sets. Illinois went on to lose to MSU in the next round. Washington was an 8 seed that year and I remember it was a very disappointing exit. I definitely remember watching Poulter in that match. In 2018, Illinois made it to the Final Four, losing to Nebraska in five sets, who then lost in the championship to Stanford. That same year, the Huskies beat the #9 seed Creighton (at Creighton) in the round of 32 but lost to Penn State in the round of 16.

Up 2-0 and lose in 5. I remember the challenge call on a touch block from Ali in Game 5 when the score was 12-12 or something close. Replay was grainy but Ali confirmed in the after game presser she touched it. I wanted that team to play Stanford in the final and take to Hambly
