Still confused as to why people are ranking BYU. They have no ranked wins and a loss to USD. Miami is more deserving, at this point imo. BYU has been good for a long time and sometimes it's hard to say goodbye to an old friend. With that said, I didn't rank them because where is the beef? |

Who would have been your other team? I just removed the #21 Florida ranking and there were only 24 teams. This actually happed on two different ballots, but the other ballot had Marquette at 21 and 24. |

that ballot should be excluded then… that poster clearly didn’t try at all to make a legit ballot A certain poster (who isn’t posting as far as I’m aware but maybe is under a different name) used to do it all the time. There are no rules to the poll. The creator of the poll has made that very clear. They don’t exclude ballots unless sent in too late This is why I should never be on the voting committee, because I would have too much fun doing just this 🤣 |

I usually run my ballot through a duplicate checker (without the numbers--just the names) before submitting. It's caught a few since I started. |

that ballot should be excluded then… that poster clearly didn’t try at all to make a legit ballot I started the Volleytalk Top 25 Poll 8+ years ago and turned it over 4 years ago to vballfan17, who has done a wonderful job maintaining the participation and integrity of the Poll, and one of the first rules was never to censor or omit a ballot that was turned in on time. Outside of those three wild rankings on that one ballot all the other rankings on that ballot were reasonable and the ballot did not make an impact for any of the teams where there may have been questionable rankings. Also, this was not even close to some of the crazy ballots Shhhhhh would submit! LOL Has it really been that long? Sheesh I’m getting old lol |

LOL I also appreciated the explanation last year by vballfan17 for those of us who are a bit mathematically challenged that removing outlier ballots don't affect the outcome (much, if at all). With enough pollsters those outliers really don't matter, and really just provide us something to chew on between matches. |

So proud of the VT voters. LOU at #6 I think is still generous if judged as a stand-alone, but when measuring in relation to the rest of the Top 25 it makes more sense. Tough to think that a #6 ranked team would have the results they had at PSU & home for NEB, but everyone is entitled to the occasional dud, esp. this year.
But unlike other outfits that still put LOU at #4 above a team that swept them, VT'ers got it right IMHO.

And WMU is decent - but they've lost a ton of games including to James Madison, UC San Diego, Clemson, and High Point. And then she was an all-star against Wofford too but they couldn't win that match. Tenn's best win is UCLA with a sketchy loss.... soo... I think it's fair. But I'm all for Cajic going off and finding a way to beat Florida and Kentucky. I won't include Texas as a possibility. |
