You know the term 'UW' has already been taken by a particular team in a B1G thread. UDub vs Wiscy
sounds good to me

UW is going to win. I'm sure of it. You know the term 'UW' has already been taken by a particular team in a B1G thread. Which UW owns UW.edu? UW.edu

Is that the custom among B1G fans on Volleytalk, that the "match threads" are done by people from the home team? There are some VT posters who have taken on multiple teams, for whatever reason. There’s a list of teams and presumed-responsible thread makers, and the general agreement is that when there are two thread-makers (e.g. for MN vs WI), that the one who makes threads for the home team has the right to make the thread… unless they pass on it for whatever reason. redbeard2008 .. if you would like a thread made for Washington vs Iowa, I’d be willing to do so. JJVb has right of first refusal, though (they’re a match-thread maker with multiple teams). You make it seem like I'm hogging threads by making myself available for multiple teams lol. I've just always made threads for Washington and former PAC-12 teams. That's why I offered myself to continue to do so.

I explained.
Be my guest, I am over it.

While I’m expecting a loss, I hope the Huskies give the badgers all they can handle!
Go Dawgs!

My memory is that the Badgers often don’t play that well in these Sunday afternoon matches in the Field House. The FH atmosphere as it comes across on TV is less energetic and focused as well.

They have played at and won at hostile sites before. None of that means they are favored in this match, because they are not. But it's not like Mississippi Valley State is coming in, awed just to be there.

IMO, it's better to be at home, especially for a BIG opener, even if the crowd isn't totally insane. Generally, The Badgers have a big advantage in the "battle tested" category. In addition, some key stats from The Huskies' win over Iowa last night might give us some clues about the outcome on Sunday [Washington numbers]: Service errors / aces 10/6 SO% 71.6 PS% 36.5 Set scores 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 I'll predict the Huskies serving isn't going to give The Badgers too much trouble and The Huskies will have trouble scoring. In addition, The Badger Block will continue to improve and one or more of the Badger middles will have themselves a day on offense.
Badgers 3-1. GO BADGERS

Except for the freshmen, they have all played at Maples. They have all played at Bohler. They have all played at Matt Knight. Etc. Hostile gyms and top opponents are not easy, but you probably should realize that the (former) PAC-12 was actually tougher (on average) than the Big 10. Again, none of that means the Huskies are favored. They are not. But playing big-time opponents on the road is not a novel experience for the program or the players.
