Would you consider his time at Loyola as a failure? Homie didn’t accomplish anything. Now he back to his roots where he can sit back and watch the players win by themselves. Fraud?

I don't get it, Hawks seems like a good coach and has a history of doing good things. He was only at Loyola 2 years and did good things.

Hawk is a good coach and a good guy, but do you really believe he is the best coach available for the best NCAA men's VB program ever?

Hawks did a great job recruiting the core players who won two back to back titles. He also knows Speraw's system that helped win those titles. That system is key. Talent, system, strong coaching + UCLA = winning. Welcome back John!

Would Loyola reach out to Shane and is he even interested in getting back in the college game?

That’s why I consider his time there as a failure and I’m sure many will agree. To start, he lost to a 7 seed McKendree the year they had the best chance to make it to the tourney. Embarassing.

Was there not a couple years that the Bruins didn't go to the tournament under the tutelage of Speraw? On top of that, Hawks was the head coach at Loyola for two years not 20....

Everyone on John Speraw's list, for starters. So, you can't really name anyone.

His 2 classes at Loyola were heavy with California kids. Be interesting to see how many stick around the North Side of Chicago.
