#9 Wisconsin vs. #11 Oregon | Friday, October 18, 2024 - 7 PM Central | UW Field House - Madison, Wisconsin |
Follow AlongThe quacking sound we most typically associate with ducks is the sound made by the adult female Mallard. Females often give this call in a series of 2–10 quacks that begin loudly and get softer. When courting, she may give a paired form of this quack. The male does not quack; instead he gives a quieter, rasping, one- or two-noted call. Ducklings make soft, shrill whistles when alarmed. Other breeds of ducks make other sounds. For example, mature female Muscovy ducks make a trill or cooing sound, and their male counterparts make a deep, breathy "huch-uch-uch" sound. On the other hand, badgers have a wide vocal repertoire that consists of at least sixteen discrete calls, varying from long, low pitched growls and barks to short, high-pitched squeaks and bird-like coos. My personal favorite sound is the "chitter," a high-pitched chattering sound that almost sounds like a monkey. [/div]

It's a top-of-the-conference matchup, and it's... not televised. It's just on B1G+.

Am I right that Colyer is pretty much the only Duck player still in the lineup who in the match last December?

who took our time slot? OSU vs PSU. WTF?
big10 vs pac10 would have drawn alot of audiences. Terrible program organizer.

While I certainly can see the "value" in televising this match, I also often react by saying "Ugh, Nebraska again?!?" when I check the listings. So I can see that others might think "Ugh, Wisconsin again?!?" :-)

I don't mean Badgers should be the BTN darling. We can trade some less valuable match for it, e.g OSU on Nov 27 which is on BTN.

How much "flex" is there in BTN scheduling? My guess is that they were expecting more from Ohio State when they set their schedule than they're getting. Not so long ago, Ohio State vs Penn State would have lloked a lot better than it does today.

I know I'm being angsty, but this is the match that I'm looking for the cleanest play and for the Badgers to take care of business. They'll have had two full weeks of fine-tuning the connections and defense and should be able to show that they've taken the next step. This doesn't mean the season is over if they lose, but it's time for them to show the rest of the country that they belong in the discussion for top team, whether in the Big Ten or nationally.

Correct. Today volleyball should be scheduled like football, TBD.

Changing which match is being televised is OK. But if it involves changing match start times, that's a whole other issue. I know at Wisconsin, a schedule change could affect a number of sports, venues, traffic, parking, etc etc. Not to mention the potential for adversely affecting the ticket-holders. (Though it is no longer the case, I know maybe ten years ago, the same video control equipment controlled the video boards at Camp Randall as controlled the video at the Kohl Center. That is, you literally could not have events happening at both sites at the same time, and have separate 'content' on the video boards.)

That's enough for the time being.
