In follow up, seems the Huskers did well against the Badger block. And the squad's balance showed up big, compensating well for the good defense against Andi. The Badgers will lose 100% of the matches they get out-physicaled at the net, as they did last night. Also 100 percent of the matches where the opponent is light years better in the back row during the match.

The system Wisconsin uses with CC&Robinson disgusts me. Why Booth has to play full 3 rotations? To throw more balls? Robinson had potential to be the next slide attacker in international level while playing TeamUSA youth teams. Unfortunately, it seems, that train has passed. Dev seems grounded this year as not the same explosiveness. Did she have too much bulk during strength straining (or too much of her favorite foods) and it affect her elevation. I know she has been blocked more then I would have her expected to be and those weren't all on the setter. Because with Devs talent you wouldn't think she would be stuck in a 3 women rotation.

Murray 1.70 on 15 Rodriguez 2.58 on 12 Mauch 2.20 on 15 Choboy 2.23 on 13
Franklin 2.25 on 16 Orzol 2.15 on 17 Schumacher 2.14 on 33
Very uncharacteristic passing night for Harper. She was passing a 2.36 on the season coming into this match (2.33 now). She's only passed a 2.0 or below in two matches all season (SMU and Wisconsin). Glad to see the Huskers overcome that

Glad to see the Huskers overcome that I was talking with Laney after the match and she kept emphasizing how difficult it was to serve receive well in The Field House, she said the combination of the lights, the glare of the court, and how the ball moves makes depth perception really challenging.

Smacks of an AI photo where you can't get the lettering quite right.

That match was a major yikes for Wisconsin. My immediate takeaway was Fuehrbringer just doesn’t know how to set Smrek properly and Anna couldn’t adjust. So many balls hit out of bounds or tipped over. Very little set variation and eerything felt predictable. Nebraska’s littles feasted and dug up some absolute bombs. Mauch is a stud and the clear choice for libero next year. Landfair was also a weapon in the third.
Sheff needs to just commit on Robinson and one of Booth/Crawford and call it a day. This weird 3 middle rotation isn’t working and it sure as heck isn’t helping the confidence of any of those players.

Wait... why is there a "W" logo on the sock!? This guy does AI art for stuff in & around Lincoln. AI is notorious for getting stuff like that wrong. Not sure what's going on with the lettering on the kneepads, or the left hand of the Lego character. Cute Badger, though.

Wait... why is there a "W" logo on the sock!? I was thinking the same. Maybe it was the AI's cryptic way to suggest that Wisconsin played a role in their downfall?

Guys. The middle rotation isn’t the problem. The badgers were top 4 in the nation blocking coming into this match. That does not suggest a systematic problem.
He’s moving them around because they have different strengths and weaknesses, and no one has really been able to claim a spot outright for whatever reason.
They just didn’t play that well in this match.
