I'll adjust the AVCA rankings in the subject and "pretty" post above as needed, once Monday's poll comes out. MN up one place (unlike what I thought I first saw). Rank has been changed.

Reverse sweep 13 years ago! Back when top 4 seeds didn't necessarily host their regional. The Pav hosted the #4 Iowa State regional. Based on the score bug in the highlight video, Washington went into the tournament ranked 11 but didn't earn a seed? RPI woes I guess? Unseeded Huskies almost "upset" 13-seed Minnesota even though Minnesota was ranked 19 and maybe it was Minnesota with the upset?
Who was there? Looked like a fun one. Ended up being the match with Katherine Harms' career highs for kills (29) and digs (24). She tied the high for kills in the 4-set loss to Iowa State in the next round then went on to be a 1st Team AA the next season!
2011 Pac-12 FoY Krista Vansant had 22 kills and of course went on to be a NPoY.

I so miss Washington's Vansant era. Strickland was also a fave. The 2013 regional final against USC was epic. Upon rewatch, I noticed former Minnesota assistant Kylin Munoz was on that squad!

Wait until you hear about the Thompson/Tomasevic era! If there's a full length replay of the Cook/McLaughlin showdown (was that '05?) I'd love to see it. That looked spicy. I'll admit, that era was before my time, but ~2013 was when I think it started to become normal practice to get full match replays on burner youtube accounts, so easier barrier to entry.

This was before the U decided that premium seat holders could keep their seats for the tournament, so I’m not sure where we were in the chairbacks, but I’m sure we didn’t like it as much.

Depends on which Cook/McLaughlin showdown you're talking about. There was the '05 title game in San Antonio. Then in 2010, there was the rumble in Seattle when the two almost came to blows: Volleytalk was littered with threads about that one. All merged into one big thread: HERE

Seems weird to see such a low attendance figure 1325 and from the video it looks like most of the chairbacks are full.

MN had such a good run of liberos in the 2000s/early 2010s. I miss watching them, I don’t miss potato-quality cameras

Was that the year the PAC went to 12 teams and kept a double round robin (dropping 1 week of non-conference to make it work)? Iirc, the entire PAC suffered with bad RPIs as a result. (Edit) Looking up the Huskies’ 2011 schedule… yup. 22 conference matches, and only 8 non-conference ones (plus the 2 NCAA tourney matches at the end).

Empty blocks of seats saved for Washington, Western Michigan, and ND State that never sold? Did they really save THAT many tickets for the other 3 teams? Barely more than 1,000 at the Pav for a tournament match involving the Gophers doesn't seem right. Heck, we had over 4,000 in attendance watching the Gophers sweep Long Island on a Thursday night this year.
