I'd say it's more predictable than slow. Poor passing=set to our left pin and we rarely reverse flow or go to a backrow attack so that's it. Our OHs have to play smart and only one does at this point. It's exacerbated by poor passing and being predictable, but it's also very slow. Sets too high, off the the net. Compare this with the MN win against Oregon last year. Totally different team and tempo. The difference is serving (Oregon lollipoped everything in the match last year) and Landfair. She wasn’t born yet, but I’m pretty sure TayLa is the protagonis t from the NES game Duck Hunt.

First time in a long time I turned off the game before it was over. This program is years away from making any run in the tournament; and, I’m not sure this coaching staff is capable. Can’t even imagine how ugly the Nebraska game will be. How did this team beat Wisconsin? We have some thoughts on this matter. — The Wisconsin Thread. I can't imagine Wisconsin playing any worse than the Gophers did this week. Did you have serve receivers getting aced 4 straight times, or give up a 7 point lead to an unranked team?

Cook is nuts. Almost no changes in set 1 blowout and then mass panic in set 3. Crowl can never play front row again. I don’t care how bad Lydia is doing. She gives a better chance at a kill than Crowl on every swing.
Minatee having a breakout season and has a bad match or two and Engemann gets the start. Exposed. Cannot close a block.
Meanwhile, Wucherer gets the longest leash of anyone. Alex came in and immediately started passing better. Sure she had her issues but Wucherer cannot pass.
I have to say, I feel bad for Wucherer. When she joined, I remember the articles about her Olympic aspirations. Not unlike many players, but she was hardcore about it. To realize your dream isn’t even close to happening in front of thousands of people is hard. I’m fortunate to not be in that sort of limelight.
Forward is the only way!

Grote or Crowl couldn’t do much against that block, Hanson is the only one getting off the ground and hitting over them. Acevedo passed very well today, but she couldn’t figure out how to score, her hitting was way off. I’d use her in serve receive for sure, they targeted her when she was in then gave up and started serving Z and Julia. I saw 2 plays with only the 2 of them in serve receive and wanted to ask Cook what he was thinking. After getting aced he pulled Wookie out and put Acevedo back in. It was all so messy, we started 3rd set with confidence then we got rattled and fell apart.

Tbh I want Wucherer front row but that feels like an unpopular opinion on here lol I feel like she's better than Acevedo at the moment. Alex needs a lot more reps. Agree, Acevedo needs to work on her swing, Wookie looks more natural in the front. But Alex is so much better in serve receive, Wookie doesn’t move her feet at all. Injury related?

Minnesota's offense is SO slow. I love Oregon’s setter quick sets. Our middles struggled to close. And Onye is just too good, she made us look like middle schoolers.

Exactly what injury would render a player poorer at passing when she can jump and swing and block? No. Wucherer is mentally feeble as a player. She's shown us that now, over and over by her play.

Julia Hanson 18 K hitting .318 Everyone else 19 K hitting .014 I hope she stays. All-american level season. Maybe she and Kinney create a good duo on the outside and Wucherer can transfer to Iowa or something.

The Crowl nothingness makes me think Gilk might actually be a fresh and useful option next year.

Her passing is hideous for a junior who has so much playing experience. I was sitting close to the floor and enjoyed Acevedos confidence for a young player.

While the Oregon loss was rough, it was not unexpected. The Washington game was inexcusable. Outhitting, outblocking-- both by a ton-- and getting crushed because of serving and serve-receive, and absent coaching modifications? Yuck.

A team closely ranked to another should be able to beat the other team when at home and when the other team has literally 453 injured players.
