granted I don't think the Big 12 schools are that good either, so perhaps it's a wash. Also, unless Minnesota learns to pass a ball, they aren't very good either. They just don't have the arms to put the ball away OOS well enough to make up for their poor passing against better teams. |

A top 4 seed has not lost at home in the 1st/2nd rounds in a very long time. Like, I actually can’t remember off the top of my head.
Anyone want to nominate some contenders? Do we think FSU or UNC could pull it off? It would be intersting if Miami-FL gets an 8-seed, I feel like nobody wants the U coming to town.

If Pitt wins out and stays ranked #1, the Instagram casuals will lose their minds when Pitt doesn’t get the overall #1 seed. I can’t wait I want someone to respond and be like "but trojan on VolleyTalk has been telling us this for over a month now" lol |

An 11-loss Purdue took out 4-seed and undefeated Mizzou. Husker fans don't forget 2011 and Kansas State. Edit to add: The only other time it happened was 1993 in the 2nd round when Minnesota knocked out UCSB, one of the 1-seeds. This was the first year the tournament went from 32 to 48 teams and the first year with any seeding. The top 4 teams in each region were seeded 1-4 and had a bye in the first round. So this will be the 32nd year of the tournament having some form of seeding, and the top 4 seeds have never lost in the 1st round and have only lost in the 2nd round 3 times, winning 97.6% of 2nd round matches since 1993. |

With the final four being in Louisville I have the Cards on upset watch. Not sure why, but I feel like the host/host-adjacent schools for the semifinals end up with the worst luck. Plus Raina Terry is destined to ruin another team’s tournament before she leaves the NCAA and Tamas is randomly a better coach in the tournament. |

I think UNC v PSU is probably the likeliest upset chance for a 1 seed in the first two rounds. |
