I'll be surprised & curious if this thread gets any responses for teams that aren't: Nebraska Wisconsin Texas Stanford Penn State Pitt Louisville Who doesn't like Pitt or Louisville? The question asks who do you most want to lose?, and why? (not, who don’t you like the most). I would think Pitt fans would want Louisville to lose the most, and Louisville fans would want Pitt to lose the most. Doesn’t mean they don’t like the other school/team/fans/coach, it’s just that they want them to lose. Additionally, if fans of Nebraska, Texas, Wisconsin, etc., think that Pitt would beat their team, they might want Pitt to lose so their team doesn’t have to play Pitt. That is wanting Pitt to lose, but really respecting the team.

I don’t really get a lot of “joy” in watching teams lose. It’s crushing in many cases and leads to so much personal criticism about players on and off social media. I’m the same age as many of these girls. I can’t imagine the pressure. I also really just like good volleyball, and often enough, the best volleyball comes from teams I may not like as a NE fan. I’m a big fan of Madi Skinner, Sarah Franklin, Kendra Wait, Elena Scott. So many others ofc but those are key names on teams that have a rivalry with Nebraska.
But in any match, someone has to lose. I never mind when Texas loses, and given Nebraska’s current position, I wasn’t unhappy with PSU’s blowout loss. Any team who goes against Nebraska, I like to see lose in that matchup. I’m a gymnastics fan as well and I am pretty anti OU’s gymnastics team so I think that trickles over to volleyball for me. But it’s never a personal thing and it’s not something I relish in. I dunno.

Nebraska, especially when Cook has a hissy fit.
Wisconsin, because they are another rival.

And Wisconsin STILL holds the record for volleyball attendance for an indoor match, ya know where games are meant to be played without wind and other elements. So Nebraska just couldn't stand it that someone else was first in something volleyball related so they had to fill their OUTDOOR football venue with Cornhusker loyalists. lol. Marquette actually holds that record, given that it was a Marquette home match.

To rephrase the question: which group of 18-22 year old young women do you like to watch experience defeat, failure, disappointment the most? The OP is dramatic but this is equally as dramatic lol. It’s sports. Fans love their team and hate their rivals and want them to lose. “Which group of young women do you like to watch experience failure and disappointment the most” is a very similar mindset to those who feel women shouldn’t show their competitiveness on the court imo (trash talk, stare downs). No one talks or whines about men’s basketball and football players being 18-22 when they get flamed. There’s definitely a line that shouldn’t be crossed, like personal insults or things beyond the sport, but simply wanting to see a certain team lose is far from it lol. Your take on this just furthers the fear of being critical of female athletes in sports, which is stupid imo. No one cares when a fan says “I hate duke mens basketball so much I hope they lose every game this year”. When it’s about an equally as prominent women’s team tho, it becomes some weird thing and they just want to see young women upset?

Now what fans do I find most annoying?
Hawaii. Most of yall are irraz but never want my girls to lose
Wisconsin. Again most of yall are irraz but Im a registered franklin fan
Honestly, Nebraska fans have been MUCH more pleasant as of late so theyre good
Some texas fans are irraz too, but the more vocal ones have stopped posting
Overall, I think Hawaii and Wisconsin take the cake for most annoying fan bases as of late lol
