Who is she better than? One of the setters? Every single pin on that list + Sis hits at a higher clip with similar or more kills, digs more balls, and blocks more balls. In the latter two categories she’s shockingly lacking. Deleye has more kills/points per set than everyone on those lists not named Martin, Babcock or Parra. And Mruzik and Parra do not hit at a higher clip. I'll give you her blocking, but convenient you left out aces/set lol. And her digging numbers are certainly affected by the fact she is surrounded by incredible defenders. You can make a solid argument for why Deleye was correctly left off without making up stats lol
So Mruzik is the one you’re pointing out as undeserving, because she fits both criteria? I could see that, but she does a lot of things for her team and PSU has had a lot more success this year and they don’t have another individual on the list. It’s harder to argue Deleye over Parra, Stafford, Franklin or Sis.

I don't understand. How can the face of women's volleyball and the Caitlin Clark of women's volleyball not be on this list? Skinner? Cause she is not having a caitlin clark type of season.... Just giving a dig to the Texas fans who were saying that Skinner was the Caitlin Clark of volleyball. Very few people outside of volleyball have ever heard of Skinner. There is no Caitlin Clark of volleyball or any other sport including men's sports. All the attention women's bb has received recently is because of Caitlin Clark. It's a shame so many players are jealous of her. I am not a women's bb fan at all and I tell people if you like air balls and missed layups then women's bb is the sport for you.

I can live with this list. No, I don't think any middles have earned a spot on this list. Yes, I do think 2-3 of these semifinalists will be dropped to 2nd team for some middles. I think the finalists will consist of Franklin, Parra, Babcock, Stafford, Fairbanks, Scott, and Rodriguez. MAYBE Wait. And the website says "NOTE: Players who aren’t semifinalists can still be added to the list of finalists in December." 🥴 I don't think both Scott and Rodriguez will be on the finalist list and I also don't think they deserve to be That's because you don't follow Nebraska volleyball and watch Rodriguez play or hear what opposing coaches game plans are when they face Nebraska.

This argument is tired. Lexi is a fantastic libero but people bring unnecessary negative attention to her when they make claims of her being otherworldly and opponents totally changing the way they play volleyball to contend with her. Yes, of course they try to avoid her like most coaches would tell players to do against the libero unless that player happens to be a liability in either reception or defense. Lexi is one of the best passers in the country, a strong technical defender and she has a bright future, likely with the national team being part of it. But she isn’t doing anything NPOY worthy.

Thank you - exactly my point. Without her, UK is no where near the top of the SEC. Just an interesting choice here. Add it to the list of UK not getting the recognition they deserve on the national landscape.

Kennedy broke the Florida single match kill record last night with 32 in a 5 set win @ Mizzou That can’t be the overall. Maybe in the 25 point era? No way in the 30 or rally scoring

No way in the 30 or rally scoring That appears to be true based on the 2022 Florida Media guide: 1. Aury Cruz (at Nebraska, 12/8/01) 31 2. Jane Collymore (vs. S. California, 9/10/05) 30 3. Alex Holston (at Texas, 11/29/14) 29 4. Jane Collymore (vs. Arkansas, 11/19/05) 28 Jane Collymore (vs. Georgia, 11/20/04) 28 Jane Collymore (at Minnesota, 9/11/04) 28 Aury Cruz (at S. Carolina, 9/21/01) 28

Just 4? I assume it’ll be Babcock, another pin who makes the F4 (Franklin/Mruzik/Sis/Stafford seem most likely), Scott/Rodriguez, and one of the setters.
