No votes for LMU though, interestingly.

I could kind of understand South Dakota State getting votes when they were the last undefeated team in D1. Not really because I thought they were top 25, but because I can understand some coaches throwing a few votes at them because no matter who you’re playing it’s impressive to be the very last lossless team.
But then they lost to St. Thomas.
Now, I am a huge St. Thomas fan. But reality tells me that St. Thomas isn’t going to be even *close* to beating any team that is in consideration to actually be in the top 25. Not even on their best day and a top 25 team’s worst day.
(Says the guy who watched the Gophers lose to Rutgers last season.)

Their best win is likely to be as good if not better than Stephen F. Austin's last year. Their RPI/KPI might be even better.

But I have a feeling SDSU will win the summit league tournament and that won’t matter.

No votes for LMU though, interestingly. I think those Western Michigan, Loyola Chicago, and San Francisco losses are keeping the coaches at bay, but they've been playing really good volleyball for almost two months now and should get a little credit.

Florida should be a couple spots higher. Not saying they should be hosting but I know a lot of teams don't want to host them for the first two rounds

They have one loss in the WCC so far, right? Pretty good considering it is competitive at the top alongside Pepperdine, San Diego, Washington State and San Francisco.

I don't think that South Dakota State belongs in the top 25, but I do think that they might have done enough to warrant an at-large bid into this year's NCAA tournament.

Right, and that loss to SF was without a starting setter, so kind of an asterisk loss.

If you put South Dakota State in your poll early and had them at say #17 when the loss--do you just drop them out of your poll entirely? How can you do that and then justify still keeping Texas in the Top 25 when they had their losing streak, or barely dropping other ranked teams who lost to bad opponents? You have to demonstrate the same type of poll consistentsy. Frankly a lot of teams ranked in the 15-25 range have big gaps in their resumes.

Baylor has been stuck at #17 for 4 weeks in a row now. Not really a bad thing, just been staying put.

At least for an at-large spot, I'd rather give it to an SDSU team who didn't have a chance to play their way up vs. a Power 4 team who had plenty of chances to play their way in and couldn't get it done. (Say an Arizona or Auburn type team) We tolerated it when Northern Iowa got a seed and then lost in the first round.

If I had a team ranked 17th and they lost I wouldn’t drop them from my top 25. But again, that didn’t happen so I am very confused why you did one of those “start an argument with myself over something that didn’t happen” and then chose to direct it at me. ◡̈
