Ok, which coach voted PSU #1? Seriously, how can anyone vote them #1? Sure, they are great, but they got pounded by the Huskers.
BTW, the way the top 8 are listed here, I can totally see those being the seeds. Hawaii going to Nebraska, Penn State hosting Notre Dame, Washington vs. Arizona at A&M and Florida going to Stanford.

I could see Minnesota voting them #1 -- not that I know that was who did it. After all, compare the Gophers fate against each. It makes perfect sense.

I don't see a problem with it. In fact, I am nearly ready to vote them #1, except for the injury to Harmotto. Penn State has been playing the best volleyball in the country the last few weeks.

If you could see Minnesota doing that, than that doesn't say much for Mike. IB your assertion is absoultely nuts, and I am the biggest PSU fan out there. One team is undefeated against the top competition in the country, including a 3-0 victory against PSU. Penn State has been playing unbelievably well and maybe even better than everyone, but should not be getting votes for #1 over Nebraska, there is simply no tangible reason. If the poll was based on "hey, who do you think is playing the best volleyball?" than maybe. It isn't however.

Stanford has a tough weekend coming. If they don't come out of there with a sweep, they may lose a whole lot!

You don't give Nebraska enough credit. Last time I checked, against a very tough schedule, they are still undefeated. So what if they lose a game here or there, they haven't lost a match. Penn State has lost 2, including one to Nebraska. Nebraska is the #1 team in the country and they should have all the votes. For a coach to vote otherwise, esp. when the team they vote #1 already lost head to head to Nebraska, is just plain silly and another reason why the poll is a joke. I think the top 10 should look like this: 1. Nebraska(all 60 votes) 2. Washington 3. Penn State 4. Notre Dame 5. Arizona 6. Stanford 7. Missouri 8. Florida 9. Hawaii 10. Texas

First and foremost results. I am sure some people use speculation as to who is playing well, but in this case we have a clear #1. They started #1 (doesn't mean much) played everybody, are the only team undefeated and soundly beat the team most all feel is #2. I am sure that if coaches had to make their voting public, PSU wouldn't have a vote for #1.

Penn State has been playing the best volleyball in the country the last few weeks. FWIW, I concur. Must be another down year in the Pac Ten. Only six teams in the top 16.

Again, I have no idea who Mike voted for, but he's seen both teams. One team struggled to beat the Gophers and the other just crushed them, twice. Nebraska beating PSU, at home, back in September could easily be outweighed by this. I guess I just don't see the absurdity--especially since Missouri almost took the Huskers down...

Why don't they just put all 6 Pac-10 teams in the top 10 and get it over with? You want to talk about the REAL joke in this poll!
And, gator, don't see how you can say what you're saying and have UW over PSU... and Notre Dame lost to LSU and Pittsburgh! Seems to me you're falling into the head-to-head trap.
