I think Hawaii will win in 3. I think Mizzou will come out very flat in game one, trying to get rid of the first game jitters, but that will lead to Hawaii carrying over the confidence of the Texas win and they won't look back.
I don't think Hawaii will romp, but scores will look like 30-24, 30-27, 30-22

Hunter is not a good setter.....SHE'S A GREAT!! SETTER. I would not at all be surprised if this goes 5 games. Hawaii has tournament experience on thier side but I wouldn't consider it an upset if Missouri wins. I pick the Tigers
I would love to see this match as I expect there to be many amazingly long rallies

Lindsey Hunter can beat any team in the country when her team is passing well. Serving will be a huge key for Hawaii. Is the match getting any tv coverage??

If Hawaii plays exactly the same as they played against Texas, they will win. And what are the chances of that happening? Really. Having seen both teams play this season, I would say that Missouri is better than Texas. They have great leadership from a senior setter and play at a high level much more consistently.

After a slow start by Hawaii many of you were trashing the team and its coach pretty intensely. I am impressed with the coach and team for turning things around. PERIOD!!!! I picked MIzz because I feel they are that good. In fairness to Hawaii.....I haven't had the opportunity to watch them play in the last few weeks. Time will tell.

It's no surprsie that you Big 12 homers are going with Mizzou. Much in the same way you went with Texas.
Hunter isn't matched up with an ordinary setter, she'll be facing a two time first team all American, and former National freshman of the year in Kanoe Kamana'o. Mizzou has yet to face a setter like Kamana'o.
Hawai'i in 4.

Texas State coach was one of the only people who thought Hawaii was a better team than Texas and she was right. Now you have Hawaii going up against Missouri and you have the same Big 12 people who are saying the same thing. Well I for one will only listen to a cooach from now on. This is coming from the coach of Texas: "Texas coach Jerritt Elliott called Missouri balanced, with "more physical" middles than Hawai'i and left sides than UT, along with a "great setter." But after what he had just seen, he leaned toward UH. The way Hawai'i played tonight they are the better team," Elliott said Saturday. "They've got more balance, they are a little better blocking team. Kanoe (Kamana'o), I can't say enough for her in terms of what she does for that team. She set one hell of a match."

Those players (hittle, etc.), in game 1 sucked, I believe many agreed, although they didn't express it that way. I could have said "they had a hard time handling Texas....the ability to play at a high level was no where in the first game.." I chose to say "suck"....but they did turn in around in game 2, I believe thanks to the coaching move. I never thrashed Shoji, I think bringing in Mason was a great move, as she literally blocked 3 of Hawaii's first 8 points.

(Thankful that they kicked it up a couple notches.) But what true fan wouldn't be pissed at the way they were playing at that point? Dunno if any of you are a fan of Nick Hornby (an author, one of his books, 'About a Boy,' got turned into a movie w/Hugh Grant) ..... But one of his first books, called 'Fever Pitch,' is about how agonizing it can be to be a fan (in the UK, a supporter) of soccer (football). In the book, Hornby talks about how it's a true fan's JOB to totally trash his own team when they are playing like rubbish... but only he is allowed to. Anyway, the book is funny as hell... go read it. (There was a U.S. movie version of the book recently w/Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore. Don't watch it -- it's also rubbish. Go watch the original British version instead.)

If Hawaii plays exactly the same as they played against Texas, they will win. Mizzou is a very good team but not that much different than Texas when everything is working. Texas was not covering the back row like they usually do, they weren't blocking effectively and couldn't find a way around Hawaii's block. I don't see Missouri doing much better, Hawaii in 4. Mizzou is a much better defensive team(behind the block) than Texas. I do wonder like someone said much earlier about Mizzou's goals for post season. We all know Hawaii pushed to be in the final four on a yearly basis.

Having seen both teams play this season, I would say that Missouri is better than Texas. They have great leadership from a senior setter and play at a high level much more consistently. The chances of that happening again, I'd say, is pretty good, considering Hawaii's peaking at the right time and is awfully hungry for another title, especially in view of their disappointing and unexpected lost to Wisconson last year. No cutting down of your senior setter, but by mentioning her, you put yourself in a hole. As BiK pointed out, Hawaii's Kanoe Kamanao was FOY and is a two-time 1st team all american setter and in all probabilities will repeat again this year.
