It's no surprsie that you Big 12 homers are going with Mizzou. Much in the same way you went with Texas. Hunter isn't matched up with an ordinary setter, she'll be facing a two time first team all American, and former National freshman of the year in Kanoe Kamana'o. Mizzou has yet to face a setter like Kamana'o. Hawai'i in 4. Kamana'o was only a third team AA her freshman year. She was indeed a first team AA last year. That is unless the Hawaii web site is wrong!

Hey Bik, I'm a Big 12 homer and I'm picking the Wahine in 4....I'm convinced they are the real deal...now if Mizzou wins I'm hosed....oh well, I'm still picking USC to win the whole...what's that? Crap.

2 posters were thrashing the team and coaches, ACE and somebody else. I wouldn't call that many. I wasn't "Thrashing" them...just stating a brief recap of game 1. Those players (hittle, etc.), in game 1 sucked, I believe many agreed, although they didn't express it that way. I could have said "they had a hard time handling Texas....the ability to play at a high level was no where in the first game.." I chose to say "suck"....but they did turn in around in game 2, I believe thanks to the coaching move. I never thrashed Shoji, I think bringing in Mason was a great move, as she literally blocked 3 of Hawaii's first 8 points. Ace, I didn't feel you were thrashing the wahine. I can understand that. You were upset and disappointed, not only because they lost, but also because of the way they played- half paralyzed. I think I can safely say that all Wahine fans, including IB and BiK, felt the same way. I laughed out loud when you later proclaimed the opposite after the Wahine returned the favor to texas in the 2nd game. That was really funny. Of course, I was already in a good mood too and was already prone to laughing.

A little off topic but a question for the Wahine Faithful, do you think that Jessica Keefe will break into the starting lineup next year? I think she would be a sophomore now academically but still a freshman as far as her eligibility. I think she has gotten some playing time this year. What do you see as her strengths that she can bring to the program? Where do you see she still needs work? Maybe she has not played enough to assess her abilities.
It would sure be fun to see her play. She and Erin Martin (formerly of MN) played on the same high school team together. She took Martin's number (#13) when Martin graduated from high school. Both are the first 2 players from that high school to actually play volleyball at the D-1 level in probably 10+ years. It would be nice to see Keefe enjoy some of the success that Martin did at MN.

I've been wondering about Keefe's chances of breaking into the starting lineup next year as well. It will be hard since UH returns starters Mason, Houston and Hittle on the outside. They also have Kaufman coming in and it's unclear what kind of impact she will make but she's generating a lot of talk already. I've been very impressed with Keefe's play when she did come in this year and she has shown flashes of brilliance. I hope that she does get her shot at starting. Shoji definitely has his work cut out for him in figuring all this out.

Missouri......... Na Wahine are na gonna win. I give this post a score of 3 out of 5. You could have earned a 5 if you had said "na gonna win, ami", thus making both a hawai'i pun and a stanford pun at the same time. Overall, not a bad effort; we will be watching in the future to see if you can take your skills to the next level.

Both are very good, but maybe not great teams. I think we have a pretty good idea of how Hawaii will play. Their staff and players are experienced in these situations and I think they will play well. I think if I had the choice to coach either team, I would choose Missouri, I think they have a little more talent. If both teams play really well, I will pick Missouri. Having said that I think of all the good teams left in the tournament, Missouri is the team most likely to under perform if not gag. I think they are happy to be there, so my final pick is Wahine in 4.

Really tickled for Hawaii and shame on all you fans for being big time doubters!! Missou is really impressive and NU had to play top notch both times too pull them out those wins. It will be a great game. I am picking Mizz. ........ great job Wahine !!! Not so much doubters here, but loyalist Hawaii fans... ;D But we all know the kinda season that Mizzou is having. No one is doubting them or taking them for granted... I assure you.

Looks to me that the 20 or so Hawaii fans made their votes, and early, and the rest of the country, for the most part, is betting against them since.
