They tried addressing this last season by modifying the rules on AA awards. For the first time, "strong" candidates from the regional team HM lists were eligible for full AA honors. Candelas and McFarland got 3rd team AA last season. I'm still scratching my head over Keao Burdine getting 1st team AA honors after hitting .239 on the season. Well, SC made the Final Four and did well in conference. The .239 was pretty decent since she was the go-to player and the setting was pretty lousy last season. However - it was 1st team AA. Regardless of the setting, that was one heck of a stretch. 2nd team AA maybe. I thought Christal Morrison should have gotten 1st team AA last season.

Is the committee for the mideast region comprised of MAC coaches only? That is crazy! caljrs, should we say Big Ten? ESTRELLA I think that is the point. Would those two players from Ball St really be among the top players of the Big Ten? Would the player from West Mich? I have nothing against the MAC, but wonder considering the relative strengths of the Big Ten and the MAC about the number of MAC players on the region team. Moreover, are there no other conferences in the Mideast? There should be 40 teams or so per region. That means there should be two more conferences, and they are unrepresented.

That's quite the generalization. Nice to see you're thinking objectively... Once again, comment without content. Glad to see you contributing.

So are honorable mention all region eligible for All America honors? Last year some were. Bibiana Candelas and Krystal McFarland got 3rd team AA after being Pacific Region HM.

I've seen teams from these other Regions many times. Even before I ever saw Hawaii. They are not at the same-level as the rest of the nation. Once again, no logical argument or any factual contributions. Just a slam. Typical.

Same with Jill Odenthal last year from Wisconsin. Without her huge match against Hawaii, I don't think she would have been a 3rd team All-American. I am too lazy to look right now, but I think she was HM All-Big Ten.

I'm not the one dismissing much of the nation simply because it's convenient to. Where's your "logic" that they "suck"?

What IS all this stuff? The number of girls getting awards takes away from it all. Back in "the day" 6 made all conference first team and 6 made AA. That's it folks. This reminds me of AYSO....everybody gets an award.

Where's your "logic" that they "suck"? It's this simple. I'm dismissing them because they, in all the teams eligible do not even host a Top 25 team. I'm dismissing them because they have never had a team to win a National Championship. If not for Automatic Conference bids and retarded Regionalization of the NCAA tournament, they rarely have teams that are worthy of making the NCAA tournament. Why don't you show me some figures why they don't suck?
