Is Nebraska coming to Hawaii or vice versa?
I apologize if I have misled you. Neither. I was just saying I am looking forward to seeing them next year should they be on TV

I'm guessing BIK is suffering the same feelings and has decided direct his anger at NU. Thankfully I am rational enough to understand BIK is only one Wahine and probably doesn't represent the majority of Wahine fans, and therefore I will still look forward to seeing Hawaii next year as I do like their style of play. It must really hurt BIK to know that not only did NU sweep Hawaii but that the team that knocked them out of the tourney was led by a Nebraska native and a career defensive performance by another. Actually none of this has anything to do with either loss AND fwiw, I DO NOT represent Hawaii's fan base. My thoughts are my own, I do not speak for the Wahine program or the rest of its fans. My problem is with Omaha being thrown out as a permanent site for the Womens Volleyball Championships. Let me ask you this..... If Dave Shoji was pushing Honolulu as a permanent site for the Championships, touting Hawaii's fan base a reason why it would be good for volleyball, what would you think? I don't think that this latest twist of events was the catalyst for your latest tirade against Cook or NU. Also if you have read any of my comments on the Final Four being held in Omaha every year, I am have been very hesitant about it. First and foremost because of fairness. I have never once advocated for it to be here, however as a general fan I am obviously not going to not go if it is. Secondly, even if Dave Shoji, whom I greatly respect, were to advocate for it I would never stoop to name calling. Especially a coach such as Shoji who has done great things for the sport.

Yes Shoji has done great things for this sport. Dave has put the sport before himself, and before his program. Cook otoh, appears to be using the sport to further his own goals, and push his program at the expense of the rest of the country. I wonder what (R)uffda! would say?

It is Cook's job to push the Husker program as far as he can. It is not his fault if others either can't or don't try to keep up.

BiK, I know everyone has their opinions, and you've made yours quite clear. Your insistence at painting John Cook as a selfish and arrogant coach who is trying to only "further his own goals" just shows me how much character you have, attempting to disgrace someone based on what? Your perception? Forgive me if I don't put a lot of value into anything you say from now on.
I don't usually let people on internet chat boards get to me, but I guess you succeeded. That happens when people attack something that is so important to me.

I think Dave has stated that he isn't against having a set site for the championship.

Have the top 16 teams host the 1st and 2nd rounds then send 8 teams to Hawaii and 8 teams to Omaha for "regionals" every year.

I guess that would mean neither of those two could host a final four though.

The festive atmosphere even proved enough to make losing coach Mary Wise smile.
"We were part of history, and it's a special night for women's volleyball," Wise said. "To have an attendance of 15,119 - of which, 21 were Gator fans; we counted - it means so much for our sport. But as difficult as an environment as this was to play in, it definitely was Nebraska's players that won that match." excerpt from OWH article tonight
Game three was all Nebraska. In one stretch, the Huskers outscored Florida 12-2.
“They don’t give you easy points,” Wise said. “I thought to win, Nebraska would have to help us some, but they weren’t in the Christmas spirit today. They didn’t give us anything.” excerpt from Lincoln Journal Star
I post this not to advance the arguement about a perm. Final Four, but I personally have always liked Wise and I just wanted to show that she has a sense of humor.

I was just reading up on Florida and had no idea that they were so young. 8 of 12 players are underclassman? You may be losing a star in Collymore (and she was a star tonight) but you have lots of reasons to be optimistic about next year.

We always come so close, yet are so far away. You figure one of these years things will go our way.

BiK's comments are just ridiculous. First of all an opposing coach (Mary Wise) is saying the exact same things as Cook, which goes to show you it isn't bias or a Nebraska Agenda. Is there anybody on this board who doesn't feel it is great for volleyball to have 15,000 fans at a volleyball match? Like Cook, is saying something crazy. Is there a collegiate coach in America who doesn't think it is great for volleyball, or who wouldn't push for this to happen in their backyard? John, is guilty of being in the position for this to happen. But, believe me John Cook could not have less to do with the NCAA having an event in Omaha than BIK would be in having any intellectual discourse. His argument is so far misplaced it is embarrasing. 15,000 fans is remarkable, and to rip anyone who echoes that sentiment is silly. Wise said everything Cook said but, there is no mention of Wise from BIK. I get the sense the "green monster" is loose.

I'm really enjoying this multi-thread tantrum from Bik. "Cook is a snake." "Washington is better." Keep it up, Bik. Sublime entertainment.
