Mary is discussing teams from the SEC and the NCAA tournament on her show right now. She feels pretty certain Florida, LSU, Bama, Kentucky and Tennessee are in and really thinks Ole Miss has a great shot to get in. Arkansas, not so much.
She also voted Getzin for SEC Coach of the Year.

Arkansas saved Tenn's butt.

Mary talking about the regionalization of the 1st 2 rounds, which she hates. Screw money and travel. If it's supposed to be a national tournament, seed the teams and place them fairly, not regionally.

Hey GatorVBall, I heard Tom say good tickets were still available for the Conference Challenge in Orlando so I'm assuming that means they are already on sale...do you know how I can get them?

I would think you can just get them down there. Maybe call the UF ticket office and ask them.
BTW, people will want to tune into Mary's show next Monday as she discusses the NCAA bracket. It's always an entertaining hour and if your school gets shafted, no doubt she'll bring it up. Whether you like her or not, she stands up for what she believes in, whether it affects Florida or not.

I remember how upset she was in 04...even a Nebraska fan called in and said they felt bad for UF.

It's not like she still holds a grudge or anything, she just talked about it again tonight for a good 10 minutes LOL. Interesting that she felt Florida would probably go on the road for the 1st 2 rounds this year. I guess we'll wait and see. She also mentioned they are looking to head out West next year over Thanksgiving. Wonder where and who they will play.

If Florida is coming west it will probably be at Long Beach State; I know Pacific also has a Thanksgiving tournament, but does not get national names.

gator, is mary's interview nationally broadcast or just in florida? They stream it over the internet. I'll post the link next week. It airs on Monday from 6-7pm on the East coast.

Since neither UTK game really had a thread, some Tennessee notes from the weekend...
1. Coming into sunday's game against Auburn, MB Sarah Blum was 13 blocks away from the school's all time career block reccord of 664. On senior night with NCAA tournament hopes a little up in the air, it was kindof questionable whether she would get it or not.
She wound up putting up 16 blocks against auburn, which is also a single match reccord, and currently holds the all time mark at 667....
2. Two breakthrough performances of the weekend...
Sophomore Mindy Flynn had 18 kills hitting .256 on 43 swings vs Florida, and 22 kills hitting .450 on 40 swings vs Auburn. She played well late last season / in the postseason as a freshman last year, and had been very solid so far this year, but it looked like she was playing on another level this weekend....
Walk-on freshman DS Chloe Goldman had bassically been a non factor in matches this season. If i did the math right she had 20 digs on the season coming into the Florida match. Against Florida she came out of no where to put up 13 digs, including back to back awesome digs on one of the match points in the 26-29 game three comeback (which were both specifically mentioned in Mary Wise's media thing). She also had 2 service aces (she came into the match with 1). She didn't seem to play quite as much sunday (that's going by my memory though, which isnt good), but still looked good and put up 8 digs.

Friday league results
LSU 3, St. Johns 0(30-18, 30-26, 30-22) Florida 3, Marquette 0(30-24, 30-26, 30-28) Cincinnati 3, Kentucky 2(28-30, 30-17,26-30, 31-29, 15-13)
Not the way Kentucky wanted to finish the season, with the NCAA selection looming. I still think they are in, but this won't help their case.
