Does volleyball really grow by groundswell?
If so, what else grows that way?
I still want to see how the Lions do against a team that can block. I don't think Hodge and Fawcett is enough -- but maybe they are.

I think Meyer has to go back to the middle. Sure, she can play the outside, and play it very well (her line virtually mirrors Fawcett's), but OSU has zero prescence in the middle without her there.

I love it when people stare into cameras and their vocabulary is reduced to... "NUMBER ONE! NUMBER ONE!!! WHOOOO!"

Although I have been beaten up by the Hawaii fans for suggesting this, the issue is the difference in the level of athletes. OSU has 4 kills in a 19-13 game, they just can't put the ball away. Defensively OSU is as good as anyone year in and year out, but they physically do not have an answer for the big guns of PSU.

That was close. OSU almost lost Main and Meyer on one Hodge tip.

OSU is playing lousy defense -- and they aren't passing. Are you watching this game, K?

Penn St. is very good, and Hodge is unstoppable; but Ohio St. is playing extremely poorly. Bad passing (especially on free balls), bad hitting decisions (way too many into the block or net), and just looking disorganized in general. Certainly not what you expect from an undefeated team ranked #12 in the nation.

I love it when people stare into cameras and their vocabulary is reduced to... "NUMBER ONE! NUMBER ONE!!! WHOOOO!" I hate that, Hoos. Believe me, the Buckeyes do it on Saturdays, and although it's warranted by a bunch of farts and their polls, it means nothing until January 9th.. or Spring... or whenever the hell they play the NC football game. If PSU is this good, they need to represent the B10 better in the Dance! THEN they can put up those fingers. (No, that's not sour grapes.)

What is there that Hawaii fans dispute about it? The thing is, when PSU goes west in the NCAAs (or the west comes east) they'll run into teams that have athletes the equal of theirs with slightly better ballhandling skills, plus more experience in tough matches. jw

OSU subbed Jones in as a _middle_ there in game 3. That was ugly.

I am watching, PSU had 49 kills OSU had 32, that is the big issue, and it has everything to do with size/talent also understand this, PSU has sent nearly 70 balls left and Main does not have a block assist or solo. That is about all ye need to know, it is very hard to play any defense, when an attacker is hitting the ball at angles ye can't defend. Main can't get touches, or take away any court, which is my point about the difference level of athletes/size. Main IMHO is one of the top players in the country, but the disparity at the net is too much, to play great defense.
