This is the link to our Journalism program... www.csulb.edu/colleges/cla/journalism/faculty/Dr. Habte's contact information is in there... You can also ask him if you'd like... Feel free to meet some of our professors (through their Bios) like Professor Garvey, who was ONCE A PROFESSOR AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY and the head of their Radio Journalism program... You will notice many professors that are linked to Minnesota... Well that's how Dr. Habte landed his lecturing gig here this year... He was able to teach right away at The Beach right after moving because he had connections to our department chair... Anyhow... Yeah.... GO BEACH!!!

Usually when professors move somewhere else to teach, they didn't get their tenure form the previous university. Don't get me wrong but it is hard to get tenured from a research university.

It's difficult to get a tenure ANYWHERE dude... Dr. Habte actually served as a Department Chair of one of his former University's Mass Communications Department... So it all really depends... Some just end up going elsewhere for various reasons... Like I said, one of our professors in the department actually was the HEAD of Stanford's Radio (Journalism) Programs... Anyhow, I forgot to add our Film/Electronic Arts Department - Steven Speilberg is our most famous alumnus from that program... GO BEACH!!!

Too late... I rest my case now... Kinda tired of going in big circles...
And to answer your question... YES, LBSU is comparable to UCLA... And you can ask the people (even the basketball players) that have transferred to the Beach from Westwood - they'll tell you the same... Education wise especially...
No, not comparable to Stanford... Because as I posted before... STANFORD is a prestigious private school - which comes with POLITICAL CLOUT...
GO BEACH!!!
