Hawaii-LBSU 2000 is old news already. Please fast forward to the present 2006.
I wonder what the odds are that CAT sets at least ONE frikkin' game, on SENIOR NIGHT!

We treated your fans and team with the utmost respect. It was a handful of Aggie STUDENTS who were doing the taunting and acting like a$$e%. Although this may be true...I heard that the gym was comprised of mostly students. AND the baseball team was very near the girls and most unkind to them. I know for a fact that one of the Wahine was moved to tears from the nasty comments directed at her while she was serving. Not cool. Karma is not dead. Pick it up a notch tonight Wahine fans!

The only ones that were rude were the members of the baseball team. They were seated directly behind the serve line in the gym. Trust me there were many of us who told them to tone it down between games. They were extremely embarrassing for us.
There were more of us adult types in there than students. We had a few middle school/high school VB teams there to watch.

Well, then, it sounds like the following people don't have a clue: -NMSU Event Management staff for volleyball matches -NMSU Athletic Director -NMSU Baseball coach If it was embarassing for the other fans in the gym, then someone should have notified one of the parties listed above.

Man, talk about the perfect disguise, they even give leis to the opponents, but during the game, wow!

It's IB's taunts you have to worry about. Who knows what he's saying in the Idahoan slang?

I've taunted enough in the past to be in the taunting Hall of Fame. I've forgotten more taunts than most of you will ever know. I've taunted entire matches at the top-of-my-lungs for seasons straight not being able to talk the next few days on campus because of it. Coaches have asked me to fight them, teams have totally collapsed, players flirted. It was fun. That being said, I refuse to release the translation key to the Idahoan slang.

The Wahine players were on the news asking for an "edgier" crowd tonight. This is the first time I've heard players ask fans to not be so nice since Hawaii played LBSU in the regionals. I hope we can oblige. ;D How refreshing it is to hear an open admission, and a plea by the way, from the Hawaii players and coaches asking their fans to treat the opposition as rudely as possible.....when you guys come to Long Beach we didn't treat you that way......sorry crapola if you ask me......that's OK cause I don't expect your post season to last more than a day longer than ours will! actually, i saw Mason's interview -- she mentioned that some NMSU fans (likely the handful mentioned on this thread) had said some disgusting things to her as she served... but said that she didn't want the fans here to cross the line and be rude, but to just make things uncomfortable for NMSU and make it a real home court advantage for the Wahine. and whenever fans cross the line anyway... no matter where it occurs, it's usually just an isolated person or group.... i think part of the problem w/getting the fans in the Stan Sherriff going and riled up sometimes is that there are so many damn announcements for advertisements/sponsors during the timeouts. this happens whether HI has the momentum or not. when the fans should be getting pumped up with energy that the team can feed off of... well, having all those "commercial breaks" is a real momentum killer... but how do you stop dollar signs?

Cub, that is pretty funny, it's like, ok, ok, listen for a minute: buy this. OK, cheer now. Ok, band, now you can play. TV, ok, you're back on, everyone quiet! To be honest, the only way I ever was able to get "fired up" is if MY players were fired up on the court. Wahine, you ARE the cheerleaders. Be fired up, execute, work hard, the fans will respond, with or without Billy V's guidance.

I'm glad to hear we aren't the only ones who have to suffer through all of that. At the Hawaii game, I actually had to track down a marketing person and beg them to play the fight song more than just once.
There has to be some kind of balance...doesn't look like any of our schools has found it yet.

I guess bad passing can ruin anything, but does anyone other than NMSU fans see the Aggies winning this one? Senior night, the revenge factor, and probably more talent are factors that lead me to believe that the home folks are going to like this match.

Senior night, the revenge factor, and probably more talent are factors that lead me to believe that the home folks are going to like this match. I think its about 60-40 Hawaii wins... but if I've noticed one thing over the years about NMSU teams, is that Jordan will have his team motivated and ready. If Hawaii doesn't respond to that, which may be the case with all of th commotion surrounding senior night (and there is quite a bit), then NMSU could jump out to an unovercomable early lead. Hawaii seriously has to bring it tonight.
