Actually Murrey played middle as a 7th and 8th grader I think. I've never seen her set, so have no idea if she might be able to play opposite. I would imagine that any of the three would be a reasonable candidate... All of them handle the ball pretty well. Against O'Dowd, she was placed at middle because she was the best blocker on the team and could cover attacks from both sides. However - I got a chuckle when I saw she was listed as a DS on the St Mary's roster. www.saintmaryschs.org/index/sports-roster-action/sport.8

Klineman played opposite on a 16's team for one club season, prior to entering high school. Before that, she played middle.

One thing Dunning said after Klineman signed is that Klineman had played OH all her career, not middle, so that she did not have to be taught to play outside, like many tall ladies have to be in college.

Any girl who comes to the Farm will know that starting as a freshman is not automatic; they need to look at the line-ups and the years. Cynthia would be a senior, so maybe Tarah knows that it is OK to sit the bench and learn for a year. Look at the right side: Waller had a great year, Janet is way too good to sit forever, and both are going to be challenged by Lichtman, who does not touch as high as Janet, but has as many shots as anyone. (BTW, Lichtman and Tarah played against each other when Francis Parker beat St. Mary's a year ago for the State Div. title). There is nothing the matter with a great player working her way into the starting line up. In the meantime you learn a lot, get a great education, hang out with good teammates, have fun, and maybe win a national title.

I'm guessing that Tarah and her family right now are amused (yet aghast) that so many people are worried about where she might end up going to school, and already inserting her into the lineups of their favorite teams. I don't think there's anything particularly wrong about talking about a really special HS/club volleyball player in the context of what she's doing now. In fact, I'm thinking of going to see Golden Bear 18-Forefront this Saturday; they have several players I've seen in HS (and was impressed with). I'll bring my camera and give a rough report. When she and her family finally decide, it won't be because people here are painting a rosy picture of how she'll fit in at the volleyball program of school X/Y/Z. This almost sounds like people buying lottery tickets and dreaming of what they'll do when they finally win. Just because I like stirring up the pot, here are two photographic hints about two programs that I'm sure are recruiting her. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) ![](http://www.biggirlinthemiddle.com/UCLAvUA06/pix/1011.jpg) ![](http://www.pbase.com/bearclause/image/69579750.jpg)
