So you want Wisconsin's volleyball program to pay for someone else's food and housing? I'm confused.

So you want Wisconsin's volleyball program to pay for someone else's food and housing? I'm confused. Estrella (AKA Star on another board) sometimes gets very confused...be patient. How Wisconsin's volleyball trip (which many other D1 teams take regularly) has any relation to someone's food, housing, etcetera, only he will be able to tell you. Except don't think you'll understand his point of view after he tries.................

Silver Surfer, please tell me how many students from the state of Wisconsin would love to have the chance to go to such a great school? I will say many and .....many don't get the chance due to financial constraints. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for athletics but when you go beyond what is required and that money can be used to really help somebody in need I have an issue. I know that this does not only apply to the sport of volleyball. Foosball and basketball are REALLY bad! ESTRELLA Hope you know understand.

I can see that based on your overall knowledge you know who and how! I followed with the following statement: " When money is needed for real stuff we can't do it, but we can take a trip to x country." Now how simple is that unless you need some help! Yes I'm the only one that can explain it for you because based on your post if I was to put your brain in a scorpion....you would sting yourself! Again, life is good and we must love this country! Hope you are not a fan of Wisconsin. ESTRELLA

BYU did almost this exact same trip 3 years ago. Each girl was responsible for $500. They did fundraising for the rest, also cut way down on their spring tourneys. They invited parents to go. It cost me $2000. Not sure if this is the norm, or if other schools fund it differently. I'm not sure how great it was volleyball-wise for the team, but I sure enjoyed it, and the girls had an incredible experience.

If there are kids that we can help and the funding is available why not use for that purpose. Please remember that my original question was who was funding it? If it is money raised by the team via camps, fundraising, etc more power to them. Simple question! ESTRELLA

It probably costs them about $50,000+ to do this trip? So that's enough to pay for how many students to go to Wisconsin for a year? Barely two?
