Quite honestly at this point in the season, I don't think anybody other than the top 4-5 teams has probably played well enough to be worthy of their ranking. It will all fall in place as the month goes on. Until then...the teams that have appeared on paper to look the best are getting the points. Rankings wont matter too much until the end of the season anyway...so in the mean time..let's just have fun speculating.

Texas A&M hmm...we will see where they are after this week. How they do on Wednesday should say a lot in their first Big 12 match

Nope, not biting, you nasty troll. Don't take yourself too seriously bomber, I didn't post trying to get a bite out of you. You weren't even in my field of vision when I posted this. I posted it because it's true. Wisconsin has zero wins against top 25 teams. They struggled against BYU and LMU but get rewarded for beating a couple of cream puffs? Get real, Top 10 material, I don't think so! I said Hawai'i wasn't worthy of their ranking after the rough start they had to start the season but yet you want to defend your team's ranking when they were beaten by BYU and struggled to beat unranked LMU. Do their victories against those cream puffs impress you that much? Before you refer to other people as "Homers", you might want to take a good look in the mirror first. And what's your excuse for slamming Minnesota? They did beat San Diego.

However, I'm okay with Minnesota at 13 but Wisconsin at 9 is definitely a stretch .

Who gets placed above Minnesota? That's the problem.

Wisconsin is in the top ten after 3 weeks without a win over a top 25 opponent?

You already have Michigan at #10 based almost entirely on a 5-game win over Hawaii. Washington @ #8 based on what? 2006, apparently. UCLA at #5, again on 2006. BYU @ #12 based on 15-13 in the 5th over Wisconsin.
In short, it's an extremely fragile poll. Nobody is proving anything so far, except the top 3.

I am having a tough time thinking who else besides the top four belong up near the top of the list. UCLA has good defense but I think they are going to be shredded when they play the top offenses. Florida looked horrible the one time I saw them vs Notre Dame. Minnesota is not big enough or experienced enough this year to make a run , though I truly love the GG and Hebert and wish them well. So many of the "top" teams have run up strong records by playing way below their levels, that it is tough to say if they can beat anyone good. Texas has to be a strong candidate to finish in the top 5; they have two losses but both against a good team. Maybe Cal? Washington? Ain't going to be Cal Poly or BYU or USD or Hawaii or Wisconsin or Pepperdine or Santa Clara or Tennesee or so many of the others who have come knocking in recent years, IMHO. I think this year might be the year of Nebraska, a couple of pretenders, and a whole lot on the outside looking in.

Hawai'i has two victories against top 25 opponents and have two out of 3 losess coming to top 10 teams (although I feel Hawai'i should have beaten Michigan up 14-12 in game 5).

Well, of course you would. Losing 3-0 to Oregon State at home and the multitude of 5-game matches they've played makes that a difficult argument. And, again, all their matches at home.

Wisconsin is in the top ten after 3 weeks without a win over a top 25 opponent? The Badgers started the season at 11 and haven't moved much, even after their lost to BYU. So far the Badgers barely beat unranked LMU and padded their win total against the likes of UW-Milwaukee, GARDNER WEBB, Syracuse, American, Columbia, and Tulane. They have ZERO wins vs Top 25 opponents thus far.

I can see the Oregon State match holding Hawai'i back. I already admitted that Hawai'i has struggled this season but they still have more top 25 wins than Minnesota and unlike Minnesota, the Wahine seem to progressing, not regressing. I'm getting tired of the "Home match argument", it's old. Unlike Nebraska, Hawai'i is at least 3,000 miles from their nearest NCAA D1 opponent.

Meanwhile, Purdue won three this weekend, and has losses to two ranked teams and Utah, lost 40 more votes than did Notre Dame, who lost twice, including once to Alabama. Not saying that Purdue should be ranked or anything, just that the folks who keep throwing Notre Dame on their ballot need to catch on. ND did not lose to Alabama. Only loss this weekend was to Ohio
