Gophers win game 1 30-24. Lots of blocks. Satellite, however, is cutting out on me due to thunderstorm. Woo-hoo.
Pretty sloppy so far, although Jones is having a strong match.

15-10 Gophers in game 2. Iowa still trying to deal with the block. Gophers still giving them too many points.
The pink ribbon lives.

30-17 in game 2. Lone's calling Jones "The Outlaw." I like it.

All I have is Game Tracker, but it sure sounds like Jessy is taking them to school!

32-30 Gophers in a fairly ugly game 3. It was who wanted it less for a while there, but Gibbemeyer gave the Gophers a boost at the end with a couple of kills and blocks.

Saw game 3 (at someone else's house on Dish Network). Game 3 was ugly. How come Roehrig didn't play much that game?

It is good for the Gophers that they were able to get the sweep even when they weren't playing well.

Good that they were able to pull out the third game. Also, Mike mentioned that Kyla has a sore shoulder. An opportunity to give it a rest and give KV some playing time. I thought that Hagerty played pretty well. Really hit the ball hard. Hopefully, she can continue that. Needs to work on her setting, though! A little ragged at times but it has to be hard playing in that arena when it is so big and empty. Doesn't Iowa have a smaller venue they can use? Not a dump but something like the Pav they can call their own and it won't be so drab?

The Gophers played decent overall. They definately played down to the level of Iowa. Dieter didnt get very many good sets this match....thus her hitting percentage wasnt the greatest. Hartmann has done a nice job getting the slide going out of both middles. She is working well with them and hopefully gets them hitting in the middle a little bit more to diversify their attack. The Haggerty/Vatterodt combo is still a toss up. Neither of them terminate the ball consistantly enough to take over the starting spot or to be a real threat. Blocking was great all night!
Has anyone else heard the high pitch scream that has developed whenever there is a free ball? Someone out there feels the need to shriek every single time. My prime suspect is Tan....as I dont picture Kyla or Haggerty screaming in that octive.

Sorry about the misspellings......they need easier names. Or, they need to play more so I can write their names more often:-)
