Then I'd say he was a pretty good coach to go that long between losing streaks.

To clarify: Gophers are obviously not still doing 2-a-days.
Charde is not a viable option. Nor is a 6-2. That would mean they'd need MORE OHs and they're already short at least one consistent OH.
Gophers work on hitting the line ALL THE TIME. Roehrig has been doing it, too.
The Gophers just aren't a top 15 team. They may no longer be a top 25 team. At least, not at this point. Maybe they will improve. Maybe they will continue to regress. It's tough, because expectations were so high for this team. But it sure appears that they were way too high. At this point, +.500 in the Big10 seems like a more realistic goal.

Not then. Not now. I tried to make that point in my original Gopher Trivia post. He is definitely NOT the problem.

I hope that JT at least ate at a good place in Evanston so the night wasn't a total loss. I was going to eat at this Italian place I heard was really good but didn't have enough time.

I haven't seen it out for a while. Maybe it was the two DSs it killed.

It would also be nice to see them get a chance to host a sub-regional since they've been skipped over for doing that when they had much higher rankings and seeding. Knowing the NCAA they will be skipped over for for this year as well. Do you know when they're practicing now? I'd like to see a few of their practises over the next couple of weeks. I didn't really think a 6-2 was viable this season but was just tthinking about how / if it could be make it work in theory for the current team and couldn't come up with a way of doing it.

I believe they are still practing late afternoon -- 330pm or 4? Check with Nao.
I don't think they'll be skipped over for a sub-regional. I think they won't have a case for one. Not without an incredible 2nd half. I'm not sure 3rd in the Big10 will even do it. It'll help if Wisconsin is not a top 4 seed and is sent on the road.
They could come in for the OHs -- the setters. Rightsides would mean coming up with two opposites. Middles would take away Gibby's serve.
That said, a 6-2 isn't going to happen unless they've no other ideas.

You would come up with a clever idea like contacting Nao for practice information. I just thought you knew everything and you disappointed me by not knowing for sure. I like how Gibby's been playing both front row and back row - she really been stepping up as a nearly all around player. If she can progress to being a consistent positive on serve receive and serving like Meredith Nelson became by the the end of her career that would be very good for the team. It also seems that she's already a bit ahead of Meredith's production level this early in their respective careers. He being able to get digs in the back row as a frosh of late is pretty impressive. Plus shes been producing pretty well with her blocking and attacks. A definite good addition to the Gopher team. I'm hopefully that Brook will get her production levels back up during the 2nd half of the conference season as well. I guess I'm just a hopeful kind of guy albeit heavily confused and sometimes brain dead.

I trust that Hebert will get them back on track when it counts. I recall they came off of a stellar 02 quite flat in 03, but then rebounded famously in the last stretch of the Big Ten and in the NCAA tourney, battling their way through a tough bracket to get to the Final Four. Teams can learn a lot from a few losses, and the Big Ten is just top-to-bottom tough this year.
Hopefully NU is on to something. They must beat Iowa, and that leaves them at 3-7. Winning 7 more locks them into NCAAs, 6 more is a pretty sure bet, and 5 is a stretch, unless they can knock off another ranked team (Michigan is most likely).
PSU, Wisc, Michigan, and Minnesota are locks for the tourney at this point. Purdue should make it in, and Illinois is making a strong case, as is an inspired Indiana. Michigan State and Northwestern will be the touch-and-go teams vying for spot #7, while Ohio State and Iowa will sit out -- Iowa, par for the course, but some bright spots thus far; Ohio State, huge disappointment. I'm thinking Stone should have waiting to announce AFTER the season.

I hope that JT at least ate at a good place in Evanston so the night wasn't a total loss. I was going to eat at this Italian place I heard was really good but didn't have enough time. Ah... my name is mentioned. I think I'll chime in... right here. I and Mrs JT got in to Chicago in the late morning, and spent some time at the Adler Planetarium. (Note that Mrs JT is not so enthused with travelling, so I have to make the occasional road trip that includes her a bit more inviting than just "fly in, drive to the hotel, drive to the match, eat at the match or at a Subway beforehand, drive back to the hotel, ...") We'd planned to leave for Evanston a bit earlier, but didn't get on the road until about 3:30. Traffic, of course, was a pain. Finally got past the I-90/I-94 split (where I-90 W goes toward OHare) and it opened up a lot... for about 3 miles. They're doing construction on I-94 W, and it was backed up and sloooooow. Ar Old Orchard Rd, we decided that we would not continue to the hotel (about another two hours away at the speeds we were going), but would instead go straight to the match. Or at least, as straight as my car-rental map + recollection would get me. Without too much problem, I stumbled onto GreenBay Rd, and from there, we made it w/out issue. Got to Welsh Ryan around 5:30. We ended up eating at Mustard's Last Stand near the arena. Hardly healthful food, but man, it's good. They've got lots of photos up on the wall, including one of the Wisconsin VB team, which went to eat there after their match against Northwestern. After the match, the team and parents went out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory, but we decided that since it was late, and we hadn't even checked into the hotel yet, and since we had to fly out the next morning... we would just go to the hotel. We stopped in at the hotel restaurant and had a bite to eat at around 10:45PM. Let's see... for the match... Kyla and [Katie/Rachelle] were the left sides, and were replaced by Tan in the back row. Tanner served for Katie/Rachelle. Brook was right side, and was normally subbed out in the back row (by Hailey I think) Rachel was setter. Jessy and Lauren were the middles. Lauren played back row, and Jessy was subbed out (by Kelly R I think). I'm not gonna comment on the match itself, nor the play. It's not my job, and frankly, I'm probably not competent to opine on it with any sort of expertise. It hurts, though. Oh... met VBCOACH at Mustard's as well. He sat with us at the match, but didn't cheer for the right team.

Why are you so angry GoIowa? Do you not have people in your life that love you? Do you need a hug? I feel bad you are so unhappy in your life that you have to be so negative about a game.....if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.
