LB is a setter and not a very good one at that. Ya know, you must be right ... that's why he's just signed a new contract to play in Greece professionally and is already a millionaire.

I think we beat this topic to refined pulp enough, don't make me go through the numbers again. Plus, if Ball has a million in his bank account, then Ruffda is Oprah Winfrey.

That one Russian MB, the one that plays opposite Kazakov in the rotation, looks like he could play Defensive Tackle in the NFL. Kinda reminds me of that Big Bulgarian, Lubomir Ganev. I guess you're talking about Egortchev. Yes, he has about the same size and bodybuilt like L Ganev but Ganev used to play OPP. Haven't watched Egortchev enough to figure out where is his serve compared to Ganev's

IF NBC screws this up --- I'll I'll X$%&% NBC will screw this up. What exactly are you planning on doing? Maybe I'll join you. There was enough of a discussion in the Women's board about what NBC's been broadcasting and it has been pathetic, so, be prepared for the worst in that you'll see bits and pieces of sets, except maybe for the 5th set, which I'm betting they will show in full.

Professional contract and millions doesn't add up to great player, check out our basketball dream team. There are some really great millionaires on that team and then there are a bunch of average millionaires on that team. Maybe I've been watching too much CSI but LB was almost on the losing end to Greece today, a supposedly easier road to the medal round for the US. I smell a payoff. They'll probably recind that million dollar offer tomorrow.

Associated Press writeup on the match (courtesy of the Honolulu Advertiser): the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2004/Aug/25/br/br06p.htmlOne aspect of the story I picked up on. Suxho will take the opportunity to dump on 2 when it's open, something that Ball rarely does. Of course, knowing Suxho, he'll probably dump even when it's not open. ;D

They showed half of game 4 and half of game 5. Unreal. Just pathetic. Meanwhile, if you are a fan of other teams, their full matches have been shown on the cable networks all week long. Screw NBC

I already know who won this match and I'm sure most of you know by now - that is if you couldn't help yourself from refraining from the e-mail you might receive from nbcolympics.com or clicked on to the link in this thread...I heard this match on the radio earlier this afternoon(PDT) figuring NBC wouldn't air their entire match in prime time or late night. I couldn't believe the ending of the match...all I kept wishing to myself that the team that I want to win won't lose and they didn't! Very unexpected tight match.

And I doubt that Greece is considering rescinding their offer. I didn't say Lloy was a great setter, I have no idea whether he is or he isn't. I just think he must be better than what this board gives him credit for. Seems to me you must be if you've been payed to play professionally for 10 years by Japan, Italy and now Greece. There are not a lot of other American v-ball players that have had that kind of career. Look, you make not like him as person, think whatever you like about his ability but seems like most others consider him one of the best setters in the world (Mike Dodd even said so!). Maybe if Brandon T. had stayed healthy he'd be starting today, but he didn't so get over it.You don't know that (R) isn't Oprah Winfrey! Again, I didn't say he had a million in his bank account, I said he's a millionaire. Which he is! That's what good investing and compound interest will do for you. ;D

Midwestfan, I don't know LB from Adam but as someone who cares about the growth of volleyball in the US I am torn over LB. Yes, he has dedicated a significant portion of his life to this sport that obviously you love as much as I, and I appreciate anyone who chooses to put in the time to train and represent our country at the highest level of competition. But it goes back to the old Charles Barkley commercial, sorry, but you are a role model for the young kids playing this sport. Don't flash your silly tattoo to the camera, don't tell us how you slept under a truck to prepare for the olympics, and don't turn to the crowd (if there is one) when you make a great play, take it to your team. I wish I had saved every photo in which you see the team coming together after a great play and LB pumping his chest towards the crowd. That is the root of my issues with LB. It's not his fault, it's NBC, Fox, VB Mag, all of these media outlets that showcase him that cause this. I don't know who will start against Brazil but I do know that it was a hell of a lot of fun watching the team with Suxho out there.
