IT'S BAAACCCKKKK! Two hours of screeching last night. Mr. Mumsie ran from the room in disgust. Mumsie Jr. and I laughed and wondered where the heck they get these disturbed individuals? It was just the first night, and we're hooked already...

I'm with Mr. Mumsie on that one.
To quote a silly British movie character:
"Not that crap again!"

I think I'll skip the audition part of the show and just watch when the real contestants are on.

I think the reason why there are so many people that can't sing auditioning for this, is because they feel if Paula is one of the judges, they stand a chance, since everyone (but Paula herself) knows Paula can't hold a tune in a bucket.

I miss Star Search. That was enjoyable to watch as talented people competed against each other without the Hung-type acts that are on the other show. Idol is a joke until the end. Plus I just don't care to watch nastiness - I think good manners are soooooo much missing in this world today!

Next to Amazing Race, American Idol is probably my favorite show. Same goes for the wife, who also loves Fear Factor -- go figure.

I think I'll skip the audition part of the show and just watch when the real contestants are on. At least in the audition part, we don't have to put up with Ryan Seacrest's idiocy. Supposedly they are cutting down to 24 tonight. The top two IMO look to be the blonde guy who when he was little was told he'd never speak again (too much of a great story, and he can sing) and the mouthy 16 year old chick (she is the most talented but might get herself into trouble with her attitude)

Seacrest is the biggest idiot. Dunkleman (sp) was way better than Seacrest. I thought it was especially galling last year when Seacrest was so blatently lobbying for certain candidates, and even had the nerve to tell the viewers to "vote for the talent." Damn it, idiot, the people will vote for who _they_ want to be the American Idol, not who you think should be. If I were that 15 year old kid who looked like Rick Astley, when Seacrest asked him if he was "relieved to be voted off," I would have decked the little punk. Hell no, I wanted to win, you dipshirt.

I'm rooting for Constantine, the long-haired rocker. Not Bo Bice, although he's very good, too. But the other one, the cuter one with the slightly uneven teeth. The one who sang that crappy song.
Makayla Gordon is a Barbra Streisand-wannabe.
Anthony Fedorov is talented. I need to hear more of his singing to determine whether he's a stud or a dud.
Carrie Underwood...what a babe!
