So here's what I've pieced together:
MPSF: Winner of Tourney(if not Pepp.) or Pepperdine EIVA: Penn State MIVA: Who cares
At Large: If the winner of Hawaii/LBSU gets to the MPSF finals, then they should be in for the at large bid.
If UCSB gets to the finals and loses to Pepp, then you gotta reconsider UCLA.
This is just how it seems to me right now.
Thoughts, comments, concerns?

There is absolutely NO FRIGGIN WAY that a team eliminated in the FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS, gets a nod in the Final Four......dream on UCLA fans

I think (hope) that if Pepperdine and Long Beach/(UCSB) both make it to the MPSF Finals, than they are both in regardless of the outcome since BYU and UCLA lost so early and to lower ranked teams. If Pepperdine loses to CSUN, then Pepp likely gets the at large for staying at #1 so much this season.

If Pepperdine goes down in the second round it would probably be easier to figure out the at-large because they would probably get it given their ranking and their record. If they do win the tournament it's going to be a headache for the selection committee because they'd have to sort everything out. I really don't think UCLA could get the at-large at this point, but it really depends on if Pepperdine wins the championship and who they played against.

That would most likely be the case. With both UCLA and BYU's early exit, I think Pepperdine is in regardless of what happens to them in the MPSF playoffs from this point on. The Beach played well against Hawai'i and should beat UCSB to move on to the MPSF finals. If they get to the finals, they will be a sure bet for the at large if they lose. It's just too bad that the best teams in the country have to eliminate each other in the MPSF tourney just to get to a watered down final four with those weak midwest and eastern teams.

Amen to that! We've all talked about it before, but I really would love to see a tournament with at least 8 teams - 4 MPSF, 2 MIVA and 2 EIVA. Seeded based on the AVCA poll? Maybe one day that will happen, but probably not while athletic budgets are being cut.

It's simple. The team that loses in the MPSF final should always get the at-large.

Try 6 MPSF, 1 MIVA, 1 EIVA. I agree in principle, but I think you might have a hard time getting the MIVA and EIVA coaches to buy into that.
