And Loyola 19-17 in the 5th.
Mira Costa and Loyola will meet this Saturday for the Division 1 CIF final at Cypress College, 6pm. Should be a good match.
I imagine both teams must be tired today after going five last night!

Los Al got screwed last night. They had one the match and then the down ref called a net. I saw video of it and there was never a net. Way to go Refs!

How could they have "one" the match...it was only game 4.... ?

the game went to 5, whoever put 4 is wrong... there was a net, the ref told the team that the players jersey hit the net, which qualifies a net... not only that but the line ref behind the los al team called a touch on the hit...
Loyola won fair and square, it's not their fault los al blew their load by freaking out and thinking they won, too bad los al's opposite put match point into the net on a rollshot... it was a great game by both teams nonetheless..
Saturday should be one of the most awaited CIF Finals in years...MIRA COSTA v. LOYOLA is possibly the biggest rivalry in high school volleyball

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
CIF-SS Division I Final
No. 1 Mira Costa (33-1) vs. No. 2 Loyola (28-5)
6:30 p.m. at Cerritos College
HOW THEY GOT HERE: Mira Costa won the Bay League title, drew a first-round bye, defeated Westlake, 25-21, 25-15, 25-17, in the second round; Long Beach Wilson, 25-17, 22-25, 25-19, 25-15, in the quarterfinals; Edison, 23-25, 25-22, 24-26, 25-14, 15-11, in the semifinals.
Loyola won the Mission League title, drew a first round bye, defeated St. John Bosco, 25-11, 25-23, 25-22, in the second round, Newport Harbor, 25-15, 25-20, 26-24, in the quarterfinals; Los Alamitos, 21-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-14, 19-17 in the semifinals.
OUTLOOK: Both teams nearly missed the opportunity to be here, needing five games to hold off a pair of Sunset League foes. Mira Costa rallied from a 2-1 deficit at Huntington Beach against Edison with little trouble. A Loyola error appeared to deliver Los Alamitos the victory. Instead, the referee called a net violation on the Griffins and the Cubs capitalized on the second chance. This is the third time these two rivals have met in the CIF playoffs, but the first in a championship match. The Mustangs went on the road to beat a fourth-seeded Loyola team in 2000 in five games and stunned an undefeated and top-seeded Loyola team in the 1997 playoffs. Both of those matches were in the quarterfinal round. Loyola won the last two Division I titles, while Mira Costa won back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002 in Division II. Mira Costa beat Loyola, 25-20, 28-30, 25-14, 25-22, on April 27 at Loyola Marymount. Loyola is led by USC-bound C.J. Schellenberg. Mira Costa has plenty of talent with four senior starters headed for Division I programs in Quint Carroll (UCSB), Max Klineman (UCSB), Matt Rawson (Hawaii) and Matt Wade (UCLA). Junior Jason Palacios and senior Chris Icaza are outstanding outside hitters. Defensive specialists Tony Accosta and Eric Leserman need to have strong games in the back row.

LOYOLA Threepeats. Mira Costa wins first game easily and thinks they will just roll over the Cubs.
BUT NO, Loyola wins the next three with no jump serves, superb defense and outside play. Costa had 11 service errors to 2 by the Cubs. Icaza was blocked all night on the front row along with Carroll. by the third game Costa kind of self-destructed.
Congrats to Loyola for being the winningist team in CIF Finals history.

It really is too bad for Costa and Los Al because Los Al should have been in the Finals and Costa probably would have beat them because Los Al's middles are weak. Loyola is not the best team.

stop you're whining... Loyola won fair and square, and the underdogs prevail again...if any other team was supposed to be there or win then they would have, and it's as easy as that, Congrats to Loyola >>>>>>>>>>>3 Peat<<<<<<<<<<<

It figures that you would support the all dudes school. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about so I will leave you alone to fantasize over your male cubs.
