1) What a stupid question to ask her.
2) Why the hell is Perez Hilton judging such an important event.
3) I am ready for the Civil War. I now know it is unavoidable.

I was going to ask what the heck you are talking about ... but then I realized I just don't care.
As you were.

I don't think it was an entirely fair question. According to the comments he made on his blog, there was really only one specific answer that would have been acceptable to him. Anything else would offend him. I probably am fairly close to Perez's thinking on the issue, but it is not fair to judge a beauty contest on one narrow topic.
That being said, I didn't watch Miss USA and really don't care who wins Miss USA. I am guessing that anyone describing this as an important event is being sarcastic.

Someone needs to smack Perez Hilton right flush in the face with a heavy gauge cast-iron skillet.
I volunteer.

Given the lame answers in the past ..such as .. "world Peace.." "for the future"
You Finally get a real ,non made up answer.
Gays if judged in any manner how THEY JUDGE US REDNECKS would never be allowed to vote...in any form.
Basing all your correctiveness (ala the BORG..) in your sexuality is just PLAIN WRONG.
Judging others on your weakness shows little NORMALITY.
It must be GENETIC...and they all must feel the same way.

She should have answered, "I'm with my President on this one -- he doesn't support it, so why should I." But seriously, what a dumb/unfair question AND great choice for a judge.

Why does that 'contest' even matter anymore?

So, let me get this right, for her gay, marriage is not normal. However, breast augmentation and other types of enhancements are totally normal. Struting around in front of a large crowd in a small swim suit looking for approval is what? Normal? These pageants need to go the way of the DoDo bird.

Shouldn't we roll this topic into the "Global Warming" thread?

Why does that 'contest' even matter anymore? This implies it once mattered.

so now we have the contest being challenged.. WRONG !!!! IT IS ABOUT GAYS AND THEIR BELIEFS... Notice not 1 gay person has come out and said the question was wrong to ask. Not 1 gay community activist would BITCH when their gay beauty contest would be judged by NON GAYS and a question of morality would be raised? ya right. I question why a gay GUY would even be on the panel judging... lesbians would be better, and ask questions like... "honey..are your implants Calif. or Florida? " The gay community has their own contest... let them stick to it.

I'm thinking you might be more free-swinging than you admit, if you spend so much time around so many gay people that you can confidently say "not 1 gay person" has said anything negative about this question. There's only one gay person (that I know of) that I talk to on any kind of regular basis, and I'm pretty sure he would roll his eyes at this entire situation: judges, contestants, the contest itself. I'm not the expert on gayness that you claim to be, but I would be willing to bet Perez Hilton isn't any more a "representative" of gay people than Paris Hilton is a "representative" of white people.

No it has been documented by FOX that the gay community is silent and in fact HAPPY over the exchange.
I wouldn't have cared less if every contestant was a lesbian...
or that any football player..sports figure or any of my friends are GAY.
Its about the QUESTION and WHO ASKED IT.
Imagine a gay football player after the game being asked by a reporter..
" you didn't close and make that tackle in the 3rd quarter...was it because you were thinking about your gay Partner? "
HOW ABSURD...
I really don't care if he was GAY...I would want to know why he missed the tackle though...and not some made up answer..about his beliefs.
I wonder how the winner would have answered if this guy asked her.."have you ever kissed a girl fully upon the lips?"
It was wrong to bring sexuality into the contest..and how many GAYS do YOU HEAR anywhere saying THAT?

I didn't know what this was about until I heard it last night. Personally, I don't think it was her belief that was the problem, it was her idiotic answer.
"People can do what they choose, but no, I don't believe they should be allowed to get married."
If they can't get married, then they can't do what they choose.
I'm showing up late and don't read Bill's idiotic ramblings, but I do see the last line of his post: "It was wrong to bring sexuality into the contest..."
Huh? In the Miss USA contest? Wrong to bring in sexuality?
