The whole Socialism battle cry is just so stupid. I tell you what, I'll take socialism over the Dictatorship/Monarchy that was the Bush years.
I wish the Conservatives would understand the reason they lost power was they were horribly incompetent at running this country. They were arrogant, greedy and provided no oversite of the President. When I hear a Repugnant say something like "We made some mistakes" I jut want to scream. No!!! you were complete disasters!!!.
Socialist regimes take over businesses that are successful or they want their resources. They don't take over failing institutions or businesses. GET A CLUE.
I guess it makes a nice rally cry for the conservative even if its not true.

They also gave the keys to the vault to Big Business. That was a smart move.

AHHHHH.....*stretches out*
Yup, starting to feel just like 1978 all over again. Think I'll go down the street and sign up for some food stamps and government cheese.

This regime will soon be followed by one that will sell arms to Iran and subsidize cocaine dealers in Central America. Everything will be OK again.

Because even a doofus like you knows that most Americans over 45 would say that 1985 was a better year and a better President than 1978.

They would, however, be wrong.
Worst presidents ever:
1--George W. Bush 2--Ronald W. Reagan
You can look it up.
[Typo repaired.]

But in retrospect some of the shine has come off his John Wayne image.

The dialectic of Historical Marxism is chugging right along, although perhaps 80 years behind schedule in this country.

My fellow citizens -- those of you here in this hall and those of you at home -- I want you to know that I have always had the highest respect for you, for your common sense and intelligence and for your decency. I have always believed in you and in what you could accomplish for yourselves and for others.
And whatever else history may say about me when I'm gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears, to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty's lamp guiding your steps and opportunity's arm steadying your way.
My fondest hope for each one of you -- and especially for the young people here -- is that you will love your country, not for her power or wealth, but for her selflessness and her idealism. May each of you have the heart to conceive, the understanding to direct, and the hand to execute works that will make the world a little better for your having been here.
