What's your point? UCI also lost to Hawaii, Pepperdine and Northridge...so what? The way I see it...Long Beach has lost to UCI, Hawaii (twice), Northridge (twice), and Pepperdine. All of you people in Long Beach are amazing! You can't see past the ends of your noses.
Long Beach your great! You are the best! Keep jumping up and down and you'll win the NCAA Championship.

What do you mean, "What's your point?". My point is that Long Beach is improving their play. They are playing better now than they did in January. I did not say that they will beat Hawaii or Pepperdine or CSUN - especially not away from the Pyramid.
I also said that I think UCI will beat UCSD and UCLA this week. They are a good team, but they are struggling a little bit right now. If they were dominant, then they would have won last night.
As has been said MANY times, by MANY people, in the MPSF, anyone can win on any given night. Who wants it more? Who is feeling it that night? Home court advantage seems to be pretty strong too. Long Beach doesn't lose very often in the Pyramid.

I won't disagree with your statement that Long Beach is better now than they were...my argument is with the LB fans or players or parents that think your team is untouchable. I know that anything can happen and I too feel UCI will beat both UCSD and UCLA. Long Beach could move up nicely in the polls but most importantly in the MPSF rankings.....with so many teams hovering around 6-8 wins...it will be a dogfight for positioning with a couple good teams being left out of the tournament.

Exactly! That is the real fight right now - those spots in the MPSF tournament. UCLA might not make it for the first time in how long? Yikes! That first match is important too - if you have to travel to BYU or Hawaii, that is going to be very tough.

I agree with VBmom... Not many teams, if any, are untouchable... But we SURE ARE PLAYING BETTER that we were back then... That was expected with our young line-up... they needed to GEL, and that's what we're doing... Don't misinterprate my over-zealous statement... GO BEACH!!!

I agree with VBmom... Not many teams, if any, are untouchable... i beg to differ on that statement. i still feel that pepperdine is quite untouchable. true hawaii just beat them, but how many other teams have? pepperdine is still the team to beat. beachy, now why do you have to go and rub that in my face? haha. well, good for you and t hildebrand! great win. mpsf - what a great season.

Pepp is looking pretty awesome right now, but no one is untouchable. Wait and see. MPSF is very hard to predict right now - even though we are all trying our best

LBS did look crisper, sharper, more enthused and more determined than I've seen them all year. Wooten seemed like a new man. Something inspired him, and it became contagious. Munoz was very good too last night. Tuzinsky and Tarr were excellent. So it does look to me like some sort of chemistry is forming. But then, that's what I thought after the first UCLA win and then they went into a valley after that. Hopefully this peak will stay up for a while.
This is the strangest season for all the teams. UCI was just unbeatable in the first half. They do rely heavily on Pelzel. If he has an off night, and Bemus can't pick him up alone, the result is what happened last night in the Pyramid. Depth appears to be the key this season. Even UCLA has had to dig deep into its roster just to floor a team in some matches. I don't think anything is set in stone for anyone, yet. The next couple of weeks will clear some fog.

I know LB is playing better but don't speak to soon!! Remember you women's team of 2001. Boy, LB fans trumpeted they are the best team da-da-da. Fox even taped an interview to be shown should they win it all and go undefeated. But alas, they fell flat on their faces!
What counts is how you finish in the end!!
Hush!!

Hey dude, NO ONE IS HYPING OUR TEAM...
We're simply happy that they're playing well!
That worlds different that the hype that went with that 2001 Women's TEAM... If you recall, they went UNDEFEATED in the regular season... WE ARE NOT...
No huge hype here... We're just glad to see us playing good volleyball...
GO BEACH!!!

Wooten looked inspired because he knees feel a whole lot better now that his tendenitis is improving. There is a lot of VB left to be played in the MPSF! Don't forget that Pepperdine ends their season with two games with BYU, AT BYU, and Long Beach still has to play them twice at the "Y". Lots of VB left folks, and it will all come down, as it usually does, to who is playing the best at the end of the year! Long Beach is getting better, UCI, for one, is getting worse! Maybe they peaked already. We'll know the answer to that one in the next couple of weeks!
