No, don't doubt it. Illinois will compete with Oshkosh. They played to 15-13, as I recall, in game three of last year's national semi-final match-up. Oshkosh basically returned their line-up ...as did Illinois Except that Illinois added Kevin Deeke at right-side, which allowed them to move their senior, Tuparitis (sp?), back to the left side. Illinois' "A" game is as good as anyone's in the country, as Cal-Berkeley found out last year.
The midwest should be well-represented at nationals. I can't wait for the MIVA tourney in two weeks! Before that, we get to see how MSU and Whitewater perform in Vegas.

A big step in the right direction came Sun aft when Cal drove the 3+ hours to Fresno, and beat them in 4. 23-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-23 Very nice ride home!!!
Fresno is at the top of the NCCVL, and while we all mostly have been beating each other up, Fresno is at the top of the NCCVL by 3 matches....and this is the first time Cal has beaten them all season.
What was particularly nice is that our junior starting OH Mike Mortimer appears to be gone for the season with stress fractures in both legs as of this past week, and Cal won in spite of missing him. The frosh/new players are getting it done...we hope.
Fresno, Cal Poly and 2 Davis squads are going to Las Vegas and the following weekend NCCVL League Championships ....top 6 teams in our league ....at Davis. Poly can be good and then in the next minute, take themselves right out of a match ..... Davis is going for experience...this season has been a challenge for new head coach Aaron Wilton (formerly of UH) with a very young team this year. Aaron has 2 more years to finish his grad work at Sac State he says.
The rest of the West at Las Vegas are USC, UCLA, AZ, and other assorted sccvl teams.
