Those top Big-12 teams got seeded almost exactly according to their RKPI: #2 Texas, #7 Iowa State, and #10 Nebraska. It does suck for the conference to have them all in one bracket, but it's also some remarkable adherence to the RPI as a seeding criterion.

I predict PSU vs. ISU in the final. Or Michigan vs. whoever in the final.

Well, I was right about some things and wrong about even more.
I have learned my lesson.

how did Michigan State get in? RPI #37 in the country, wins over #5 seed Illinois and USC, .531 season winning percentage. Which makes me wonder how Illinois got such a high seed, with the loss to MSU, and again to Minnesota last night.

Wow.....Looks like the Omaha region is way more difficult than all the others. Not only the SEC champ LSU but also 4 teams from the Big 12.......NOt fair to the Big 12.....the Pac 10 gets their teams split up and the BIG 12 gets the short end of the stick.. I am just beside myself. So pissed! The Big 10 gets spread out, too, which is how it should be. I'm sick of looking at it. Can't wait to go to Omaha and see the Big 12 kick each others butts.

I am a huge Michigan State fan, but I cannot believe that they made it in. They were tied for last in the Big Ten! Has the last place team from a big conference ever made it in the tourney? Indiana and Northwestern must be kicking themselves for having decent conference seasons and missing the tournament by a win or two. On the other hand, what other teams were on the bubble that did not give in? Could any of those teams made a case over MSU? closest would be Miami with a 11-9 conference and 18-12 overall records

Here is my beef with this tournament: Iowa State - should have been a top 4 instead of FSU with wins over Nebraska and Texas. Michigan State - finishes tied for last in the Big Ten conference. Losers of 7 out of their last 8 matches - terrible selection Northwestern - screwed after going 16-16, finishing 6th in Big Ten with 7 conference wins.

Had to be because of the early season sweep of Illinois (another possibly over-rated team). They really don't have any other wins of note, although they have a five-set loss to Notre Dame. I'll be surprised if they get past Oregon. well there you go ... there's the common thread. losing to ND is the key to nabbing a top 4 seed ... ;D

... a team they swept at a neutral site earlier in the season before they lost Brook Dieter. But no, it won't be easy playing Minnesota in front of a sellout crowd. Better than going to Omaha and playing Nebraska in front of a crowd in all red. UW having swept Minnesota earlier in the season could help cancel out the home court advantage. Taylor Carico must be shaking her head, although a reunion with USC would be even better.

I'll be surprised if they get past Oregon. They also beat Florida, but Florida had a bit of a down year (for them). The ACC isn't exactly a power volleyball conference. Giving FSU a 3 and Hawaii a 12 -- just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. actually, a correction --- FSU lost to Florida ... in 5. Modified: (Sorry, I'm responding as I go through the thread, and now see that this correction has been posted a bunch of times by now...)
