If pbp is to be believed, Menden came in to serve for Tabberson and is setting.

Any chance that North Carolina Central is as strong as Penn State? If so, I like our chances this season even with this line-up!!! ;D

NCC out to 4-0 lead in g3 with 2 more aces. Gophers now lead 8-6, however.

OK, got thru that one. Thanks, JHAM and gopherit, for covering for Ruffda.
Did Filho not play?
With Gibby out, the frosh and sophs are going to have to step up big time. An already "young" team gets younger. If I understand correctly, Wittman, Haugen, Dixon, Harms, Tabberson, Sooter and Menden all saw significant time today. None of which saw much court time in 2009.

I would suspect that Grandquist will return to libero tomorrow and Filho to one of the MB spots but still a young team out on the floor but good to get them some experience especially away from the Pav.

Speaking of next year, McNeil, our new setter, will be a top 10 recruit. We'll see where she ends up tomorrow when the top 10 are posted.
So if Gibb is out four weeks, she would/could return around Oct. 8. We'd be playing the following 11-12 matches without her, with Penn State the next match on Oct. 15.
N.C. Central (N) Delaware (N) Duke (A)
UC Santa Barbara (N) San Diego St. (A) San Diego (N)
Michigan St. (A) Michigan (A)
Purdue (H) Indiana (H)
Iowa (A)
Northwestern (A) -- Oct. 10

Gibby out, you folks are depressing me terribly. The 6-2 makes a lot of sense, if that's the problem.

You use a 6-2 when you have talent/attackers that you want/need to get on the court. Our problem is we are losing players. They will stay with a 5-1 with Dixon replacing Gibb. We're basically down to Haugen as the only available front row sub. Scary.
