Not so concerned about the aces, if the passing's been OK otherwise. But I have a hunch ...

Nice match, stat-wise, for Wittman. 20-3-44 .386 18 digs. 3 servce reception errors, though. MN aced quite a bit so far this weekend. Curious as to why. 7 times today. Maybe lack of focus against teams they think they should beat?

Good showing for the Blue Hens, even thoughit was against the MN "B" team. After getting toasted by Duke yesterday, DE showed some heart. The Gophers don't have Gibbemeyer playing, because she's hurt, and she's certainly an impact player. Her absence aside, it was the "A" team out there. Looks like Wittman saved the day, or this part of it.

Well, they don't have Cowles and we don't really know who the "A" setter is, plus we don't know if Dixon will be the 2nd MB. So it is true that they are still experimenting.

The attempts in the Delaware match where definitely skewed, but a large portion of Love's attempts came as a result of the setter attempting to give her "revenge"....In the second set, she was blocked 3 straight times, down into the court. As a result, Nucci kept setting her for revenge kills to make a point. One point she got 3 straight attempts on perfect passes that Nucci gave to no one else. Combine in her junk pass swings, her attempt count would get pretty high.

Yes, we don't have Cowles but won't any time this season. However regrettable, she's not part of the 2010 playing roster. So saying we don't have Cowles is like saying we don't have the 2011 recruits. The poster was suggesting that Minnesota made a choice to keep starters on the bench for the sake of giving the less-experienced players match-time. That was true yesterday; it wasn't true vs. Delaware. As for the setting position, Nucci seems to have the edge, and even if Tabberson eventually wins out, it's still the case that Nucci isn't the "B" team setter right now.

Penn State would do the same thing during the last few years as a way of re-establishing psychological dominance. If any team was able to block Love three times in a row, my hat's off to them.

Sorry about the misalignment. I don't know how to fix it. Stats say Cowles played in 1 set. That can't possibly be right. I'm not happy to see Minnesota give up a set to Delaware, but it does look like set 3 for Delaware was an aberration. Gophers held the Hens to a very low hitting percentage in the other 3 games.

Minnesota looks great so far, even without Gibby. Duke hasn't seen a defense like Minnesota's yet this season.
