The term Final Four is a copyrighted moniker by the NCAA only for its men's and women's Division I basketball championships. No other sport can use this terminology. The men's volleyball title is NCAA National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship. Just an FYI for you in case the NCAA police are watching.

I have to say that I still think Pepperdine has a chance to be in the final four. Having seen both UCI and Pepperdine this season-- if Pepperdine can come up with the right strategy, they have all the weapons to bring about an upset.

If the BEACH loses to UCI on Thursday, the only way the BEACH has a shot is if UCLA can upset Pepp.

If UCI beats LBSU, and loses to a team(probably PEPP.) then PEPP. would most likely receive it. OR if UCLA can upset Pepp., then you can make a case for the BEACH. Whoever wins the MPSF Finals gets an automatic bid. If UCI wins, then the at large spot is chosen by the committee. If a team other than UCI wins the MPSF Finals, they get the automatic bid, and I would guess UCI would get the at large.

Yeah, I was just commenting on how both LBSU AND UCI can make the FF because both are in the same semifinal bracket.

And then LBSU would have to beat Pepp or UCLA on Sat. If UCI beats LBSU on Thursday, and Pepp or UCLA beat UCI on SAt, there's no way LBSU gets the at large.

1. UC Irvine 2. Hawai`i 3. Loyola-Chicago 4. Penn St. or George Mason (seems like PSU is in a funk right now)
I hope UC Irvine wins the MPSF so that HAWAI`I will get a chance to make it to the National Semi-finals.
If UC Irvine loses in the semi-finals or finals of the MPSF, then it's goodbye season for Hawai`i.
If UC Irvine wins the MPSF, it's an obvious choice to take them over Pepperdine or LBSU.
1. Hawai`i won both matches against LBSU 2. Hawai`i split with Pepperdine though Hawai`i's win was a 3 game sweep and Pepperdine's win was a 3-2 win and both were at pepperdine. 3. UCLA granted automatic bid even though losing in quarter-finals last year.
