A stud is a piece of wood..or a breeding male.
A setter..Not top be confused with a English pointer..should have GREAT HANDS 1st. Soft and gentle..like a sponge.
Great range..meaning great conditioning.. To get those lousy passes...
Have great vision... and the ability to focus on what they are seeing and act without FEAR.
Be like an NFL QB and have the ability to forget and move on..
Notice OFFENSE come 1st..if you execute you dont need great blockers.
But since you must play some defense.. Communication and DESIRE to BLOCK must be as important as height.
We all know lousy non blocking VB players.At every height.
Just as we know great blockers who are shorter than desired.
Who cares as long as you win?

I don't believe this tread has gotten this far without mention of the setter that was SUPPOSED to be one of the reasons PSU was going fail this year. "Carpenter's too short, everyone will hit right over her." Here it is one season and one NC later.
