Eric Sullivan was on the Net podcast saying he believes the news station footage was falsely edited to show the ball in. I think it's time NU make a stink about this. "It's not just a river in Egypt anymore." OK, I listened to some of that Net Live show today and heard what he actually had to say. It was quite a bit more reasonable than what "redontop" posted here. I still think he's wrong, that the ball was in. That's the way it looked to me live, and that's the way it looked to me in the replay. It certainly was not "a foot out," like Sullivan thinks it was. But Sullivan did not actually say the footage was "falsely edited." In the end, of course, it doesn't matter. The call was made and that was that. Whatever is shown on TV or You Tube or anywhere else won't change that.

He has good enough eyes and volleyball sense to be on the USA Olympic Team. I would take his word and eyes over the homer linesman any day. Everyone of the Nebraska players saw it out. They all jumped up immediately before the high fivin linesman put down his flag.

It would be fascinating to know if the linesman is an alumni of any Pac 10 school. I am not taking sides at all on this issue but it would be fun for curiosity sake.

How many times have players, knowing they blew it, react in a way as to influence the ref? Happens all the time in every sport. I've done it, both as a player and a coach. I throw my hands up and scream "out" when in fact it the ball was in or vice versa.

Couldn't these comments be sent via personal message? Isn't that a more respectable and mature way to say these things?

Couldn't these comments be sent via personal message? Isn't that a more respectable and mature way to say these things? [boggling]This is an internet forum. Moreover, for the most part it is an anonymous internet forum. You don't seriously expect respectability and maturity to be the order of the day, do you? I mean, it would be nice, but it's not exactly likely.[/boggling] I have a pretty good guess that I've been on the internet forums longer than you've been alive. Everybody makes posts they later wish they hadn't. People get reputations they later wish they hadn't. It's not that big of a deal. When other people won't let it go, your best option is not to complain about them not letting it go. Instead, your best option is to just ignore them and make a new reputation.
