That ball was about 15 feet directly in front of Sullivan. He has good enough eyes and volleyball sense to be on the USA Olympic Team. I would take his word and eyes over the homer linesman any day. So...having played volleyball means you make a good linesmen? That's a pretty big jump...unless he spent his time in the springs watching the end line instead of being involved in passing drills or playing in scrimmages. You know....I've been to the dentists a lot...how about you let me take care of some of your cavities. As mentioned several times...the excitement of players has no relation to what actually happened with the ball.

It would be fascinating to know if the linesman is an alumni of any Pac 10 school. I am not taking sides at all on this issue but it would be fun for curiosity sake. He obviously has spent some time around Hec Ed in order to know the Arena manager well enough to high five with her after the match. That's true...there is that national law that says you have to know someone well to high five them.

The bottom line is this. Heavily favored Nebraska could not beat UW again. Save the bad call whining...every match has several calls that could go either way. Nebraska could have won the next two points but they didn't. Game over!!

LOL I like how you changed "knew well enough" to "don't know" to skew the point. Even then, I have...especially at sporting events. As far as people that I see around in passing...I high five them sometimes also as a greeting.

Fair enough. About the high fiving however.........I can imagine what this board would have been saying if the 2008 Regional Final had been in Lincoln and afterward caught on video was a linesman who had made a very controversial call, and then high fived someone who was obviously from Nebraska (who was involved with the support system in some way) !!! What would all of you had to say about that. I can only imagine. As far as your lame high fivin excuse? My favorite line of Jack Nickolson's is " Sell crazy somewhere else."

What is sad is that the UW usher staff, which is remarkably friendly, may get some new restrictions.
They chase balls during warm-ups. They congratulate opposing players and coaches after matches. And yes, I've seen them say "good job" or high five members of the referee crews. I've seen them help players up from both teams when someone runs into the seats or stands. That's for both Volleyball and Basketball.
Heck, one usher sings the National Anthem once per Volleyball season and brings the house down.
But now, after all this VT crybaby whining, I won't be surprised if there's a meeting before the start of next season and they're told they can't interact or make eye contact with anyone involved in the games.
Sorry, Ushers, you've been friendly and good sports, but from now on we need to behave like Nebraska.

I think the new standard will be: Do not show that you are a homer because there might be a camera on you. It might be an intensive training course there at Hec Ed. How to show you are not a Homer 101.

How many coaches had to be physically restrained at the end of a match? You have selective criticism.

I am friendly too Tom but I can't remember the last time I high fived someone just to be friendly. Still trying to sell crazy?
