Baird played a couple games last year. She looked good solid hitter good placement. Looking forward to watching her play. Baird redshirted in 2019. You might be thinking of Berty. Ya Baird didn’t play last year lol

Saw this on SBNation regarding Pac-12 volleyball a few days ago:
However, sources say the conference will follow the Big Ten model of having its teams play the same team twice in the same weekend in the same location. For example, that would mean Utah hosting Arizona on a Friday, and then again a day or two later. That reduces travel because normally Pac-12 teams do home-and-homes with each team and have to travel to two different schools on their road trips. Pac-12 volleyball teams will not be playing non-conference matches this season. However, Arizona is scheduled to scrimmage New Mexico State on Jan. 16, its lone tune-up before the regular season.

“ In consultation with university leadership, Stanford Athletics believes there is still hope for a meaningful in-person experience for many student-athletes this academic year, and for some level of competition for many teams within an environment that prioritizes health and safety.”
That doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

I think the way this is worded, women's volleyball might not actually be on campus. Since they would practice indoors, and they're not allowed for now.

So quiet here about the season. Are we practicing? Injuries ? Will we really play on the 22nd ? Rumor is, Stanford at USC (twice), 22nd and 23rd.

Some of my comments may have been previously posted by others.
A month ago Vicini was doing heel raises with weights and is 100% healthy. Xu has been 100% since August of last year. I’m not sure about L Smith but I doubt she will be ready the beginning of the season.
This is turning into a difficult season for the players;
Started practicing August 2020 outside on tennis courts.
Half the team moved to a club facility in San Diego with basically no on-site coaching. This was far from ideal for the players.
Moved back to campus or home November 2020 to complete fall quarter of schooling.
Early January 2021 everyone comes to campus to quarantine for ten days with the possibility the season could be canceled at any time. They won’t practice or do anything until quarantine completed. The team is not going to be ready for a match on Jan 22 but maybe they will play some kind of scrimmage. I haven’t seen any conference schedule yet and I don’t think it is finished. If this season gets airborne for the Cardinal it’s going to have a turbulent beginning. Expect some early unsteady play.
The team must find a facility to practice and host home games because it is prohibited in Santa Clara county. Currently the Stanford women’s and men’s basketball teams are the only teams in the country without a home court.
Looking at fall 2021, will 6’4” Cameron Brink play for the volleyball team?
Is Hambly recruiting 6’5” Maggie Mendelson (2023 OH converted from MB)? Currently ranked #2 in her class by prepvolleyball.

Yeah I read the article with that quote. It is a fancy way of saying we have no idea what is going to happen.
