Stanford needs to separate themselves from Cal. Nobody wants Cal and for Stanford to attach themselves to Cal is like pulling some serious dead wait. I could see the Big 10 brining in Stanford but the Big 10 wants nothing to do with Cal.

FWIW, Taylor Harvey just made the U21 National team. She is an absolute beast. You just don't see that many MBs with that insane athleticism. As good as the 2025 class is looking for us she is my #1 target....

Very latest reports indicate the votes are not there and the idea of Stanford/Cal joining ACC is most likely over even with Notre Dame pushing hard to add Stanford/Cal Anyone going to the practice next Wednesday? I can't make it to the STM practice on Wednesday unfortunately. For those attending the Q&A with Hambly afterwards, I'd love to hear his take on the recent Pac12 collapse and its likely impact on the future of Stanford volleyball. I'm also curious to know which current players, if any, are planning to use their Covid year to return in 2024 (ex. Oglivie, Vicini, Baird, A. Smith). I'm pretty sure Oglivie is coming back but it would be nice if at least one of the MBs (ie. Vicini or A. Smith) stays as well to add some experience, or else it will likely be a true freshman (ex. Andrew) along with Francis in the middle with minimal depth. |

I’ll be asking about 2024 and what Srs will be back for the one Qtr
Baird and Vicini would have to be in grad school to be back for year 6.
I won’t be asking about the demise of the Pac 12

I'd say Hambly is concerned mainly about the quality of competition whether Stanford is in a conference or not. Obviously scheduling tough in the early part of the season is pretty easy, but after the B1G, SEC, and ACC start their conference schedules, finding worthy opponents won't be easy. |
