Stanford looked much steadier with Cawa on the court! She made some mistakes but for the most part, the team was able to bounce back from it. I'm glad Hambly is making changes in the backrow!! I would love to see yu at oppo and Harvey at Outside, tho Ipar is doing quite well and Rubin is a must on the outside... Interesting...Yu at oppo. So Stanford runs a 6-2 in this scenario? What do you think will happen when Blyashov comes back? Does she replace Kurt or Harvey?
Harvey on the left side would be dynamite on any iso set. What we don't know about is OOS balls which typically go to the left side hitter. How would Harvey handle those? Also Harvey's blocking is really weak, at least on the right side. Kurt can play on the right side definitely like she did with Fenerbache and as evidenced by her play in one rotation where she hits right. Kurt is a better blocker, but I haven't checked the numbers. Bly was slated to play left side, but not sure how she would look on the right. Based upon U19 and what I've seen in various warmups her blocking looks pretty good. If Bly is ready to go this weekend we might see her get some action because the opponents aren't that strong.

Does anyone actually know the status of Blyashov?

sadly not, just rummors but she was dressed up to play against wake forest. She was on the hitting lines during warmups in the WF match and looked pretty good. That tells me she's not very far away from returning or becoming available to play. I'd think once she gets medical clearance and if a redshirt is off the table you will see her on the floor pretty soon. This weekend would be perfect because I believe the next two opponents are weak enough that Hambly could insert her without fear of losing a lead. After this weekend, its SMU and Pitt on the road, hence tougher opponents, although Pitt is so good they might lock Stanford in the woodshed and throw away the key.

Give Pitt the credit without throwing Stanford under the bus. Not necessary.

i havent seen much of pitt (i really only watch stanford) what are some of pitt's top strengths and weaknesses and what will stanford have to do to put up a fight? will we have to dump a lot and run cheeky plays?

i havent seen much of pitt (i really only watch stanford) what are some of pitt's top strengths and weaknesses and what will stanford have to do to put up a fight? will we have to dump a lot and run cheeky plays? Strengths: Two elite pin hitters, very good blocking and back row defense, good passing, serving, and setting. Weaknesses (not many): Third pin hitter is very experienced but sometimes erratic and at 6'1" can be blocked OOS. Freshman MH Ryla Jones is inexperienced but talented. Pitt has won every set they've played this year except one, and in that set they used a couple of non-starters so they could give their inexperienced players a taste of real competition. Probably the only formula that beats Pitt is winning the serve/pass game by a wide margin.

Which I’m not sure any team can win Some may have “better passers” but pitts serving will stress the best teams out And if you don’t serve light outs, Pitt will pass. This Pitt team is insane. Stafford is hitting higher than most middles And is passing insanely well

What happened to Elia? She wasn’t dressed today She was dressed but not medically cleared to play -- supposedly a minor upper arm/shoulder issue. Supposedly she should be ok to play against BC on Saturday. Whether Hambly plays her remains to be seen -- possibly limited action if BC struggles like 'Cuse.

BC won against Cal, reversing sweep Cal 19-17 on the 5th set. So they are not bad. Syracuse was bad and we were not as good either in the first set. Hopefully, we will see Rubin and Blyashov back soon.
