If it is a two year grad school program, then perhaps Gates could be a redshirt as well and scholarship player her final year. It would definitely help the transition in 2020.

I still stand by that Kipp should see the court as a front row OH. The addition of Gates diminishes the chance of that happening IMO, because Stanford will have enough firepower but McClure brings the passing and D. I do still think Kipp has potential to be very special out of the gates (no pun intended lolol), and a talent like her should not be wasted. From what I've seen of her, she has developed a dynamism that not even Plummer or Hodson showed in high school. Girl can jump and can crush, and her line shot is a beauty

And, with other fire power throughout the lineup, her hitting percentage could be crazy good. |

How? She never red-shirted and she is a math major. She was really able to graduate in 3 years with a degree in mathematics while playing volleyball? That would be very impressive. I did notice that she is gone from the UCLA roster. I did not realize that. Math is easy to graduate early because UC schools will allow you to skip lower level courses with good AP grades. |

Adding Gates to Stanford is crazy! There could be many blowouts so plenty of people can play! But, starting lineup, it will be interesting to see how Kipp fits in, judging by the comments on here.

I saw somewhere that Gates actually ended up as an Econ, not math major, but did research in Anthropology. No idea what she would be studying at Stanford, but Stanford is not like some of the beach programs that just add athletes to the roster and create a grad school program for them. It seems like if Gates was planning to do grad school at Stanford, she would have listed it on her instagram by now. Most students have been accepted into their grad school programs by mid April. But neither Stanford nor any other program are mentioned, so there is lots of mystery and innuendo.

Last match for the Gaels v. the Cardinal. Will Gaels take the sweep?
