Referring to Dave Boos, I believe. Did you use the process of elimination?

Referring to Dave Boos, I believe. Did you use the process of elimination? Well, yeah. Very scientific!

Yes, it's a scandal that a coach who planned the practices and handled much of the prep for upcoming matches, a coach who held the title of assistant head coach, would be given some of the credit for the team's success.
Horrors!
And, while we're at it, let's not give him any credit for the team Shondell inherited this year.
Why? Beats me. Maybe it's just because people can be incredibly petty -- for years and years and years.
Give it a frickin' rest.

Don't get me wrong. One of the two constants since 1996 (Nao being the other) has been Mike. It is no coincidence that the program has become an elite one since Mike's arrival and has been to 3 Final Fours with 3 different #2s. Mike knows how to empower people (and hire people), but he also knows how to run a volleyball program.

Also are you suggesting that BSU would have won the MAC or came close to it, without the coaching change?

Yes, that is what I am suggesting.
And yes that seems to be what you -- and others -- are saying (as to credit).
And now the take is that Shondell won IN SPITE of the players he inherited. Wow. Just wow.

No one will ever know if BSU would have won with or without Boos. But the players he inherited would have made a difference either way no matter who coached.

Dick, I suggest you talk to keystone before you post again. I'm sick and tired of this BS -- to the point where I'm about to blow the whistle on everyone who is doing it.

Brian and Dave received credit for the team's success while they were there. Scott has not. If Brian and/or Dave were still in the position they would have been considered slam dunks for moving up. And most would have said it was a great hire. Scott is not getting the same respect.

I am not disagreeing with your point, ugopher. I am taking issue with the posters here who continue to bash Dave Boos 7 years after he left Minnesota.

Why did Boos really leave Minnesota?

I would suggest that bashing is way overstated. I would also suggest that Boos, relative to about 50 coaches is hardly being roughed up. If your considering blowing the whistle on people over this, where are you in all those other threads where coaches are getting truly hammered? On a scale of 1-10 this is about a three, yet youre taking this incredibly personal. I stated that he attempted to take more credit than he should have as an assistant to a coach who was incredibly succesful before and after he was there. I dont think im alone on that assertion, nor would I consider it bashing.

What I know is a lot of people THINK they know the reason. They need to stop and ask themselves: who told me what happened? Is it true?
Keystone, I don't care about coaches getting hammered. I care about multiple accounts being created by the same people to do the hammering. I care when it's other coaches engaging in this behavior.
Your remark was just petty. The other stuff is much more than that.
