Dick, I suggest you talk to keystone before you post again. I'm sick and tired of this BS -- to the point where I'm about to blow the whistle on everyone who is doing it. "Blow the whistle"? What is this, Silkwood? People have opinions about Boos, and they don't match up with yours. So? This has nothing to do with opinions. It has to do with other coaches creating multiple accounts to criticize AND spread lies about another coach. Do you honestly think that is fair?

Less than 10% of everything said on here is fair or accurate. Again, Boos is about 50th on the list of people who get treated unfairly on this site.

They are lies.
But even if they weren't, do you think it is OK for coaches to create multiple accounts to go after other coaches?
I am so sick of this forum.
You all can have the stupid thing.

If Boos did no wrong, why would anybody have a beef with him?

Here's my question: does everyone assume that it's going to be Hugh simply because the process is taking so long?

Could be Hugh. Could not be Hugh.
How's that!! ;D
The delay could be attributed to three situations: 1. Hugh has accepted and is working thru the logistics of telling USAV and the team. 2. Hugh hasn't made up his mind. 3. Hugh said no and MN has moved on to reaching out to the next candidate.
I don't think it will be Starkey. He's a good coach but the lack of D1 experience hurts him.
I didn't mean to stir up a hornet's next by bringing up Heffernan and Boos. Just comparing situations.

This is probably one of the most pointless threads I've seen on VT

This is probably one of the most pointless threads I've seen on VT Hmmm.....there have been some pretty pointless threads in the past so I don't know if I would go that far. However, it definitely has gotten off track a few times.

Starkey does have the experience of winning 4 CONSECUTIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Only 1 D1 coach I can think of with that experience and I don't think he is interested in Minnesota.

[NOTE: I posted this on the Jobs Thread, but thought I'd post it here too.]
Interesting discussion today on The Net Live about Hugh McCutcheon (current WNT HC) possibly being named the new HC at Minnesota (which has been discussed ad nausea on it's own forty-one page thread).
Among the highlights were:
* Reid Priddy saying that he didn't think Hugh would leave before the end of the Quadrennial (2012), but could see him setting himself up (now) for after the Quad. Barney and Geeter then drew the parallel with what happened at USC with Mick Haley and said that this was set-up two years in advance.
* Geeter and Barney mentioning possible replacements (like Jimmy Mac or Mick Haley), then quickly pointing to the fact that the higher profile women's collegiate jobs pay better than the WNT (and thus the allure). They added that the amount of travel with either NT is so crazy, that the job should pay $500 or $750K, but doesn't. So again, they get why Hugh would consider MN and mentioned that Wiz has family there.
* They discussed the major difference (as they see it) between international coaching and collegiate coaching. Internationally, it's all about scouting and trying to figure out how to "one up" the other team. Collegiate coaching, they agreed, is all about recruiting. Geeter then mentioned that in college he feels you need a great recruiter, an arm in the gym and a female (depending upon the gender of the HC).
* They commented that the WNT is currently ranked #2 in the world, while the MNT have slipped to #5 (with a slight hint that this is due to Hugh's influence).
