This is a good problem to have. But I'd trade a setter or two for one good LS hitter. Can we have Osmokrovic please? Or perhaps one of the Brazillian hitters. Wait, which Brazilian hitter? ;D I don't think I would want Mari or Paula. Too inconsistent and/or injury prone. Natalia is out again (another surgery to her leg). That leaves Jaqueline or Garay. Sassa will be more of a DS. But nope, I'm not trading Spicer or Lloyd for anyone less than an in-form Sheila Castro. We don't need Castro ( she's been mediocre without Fafao IMO ) with Hooker, we need a solid passer. I'd take Jaque any day. Jaque and Tom would make one hell of a combo.

Spicer's #3 on the depth chart but not even starting on he club team, so we're not _that_ deep. I'm also not sure that Glass has really improved at all over the past two years - maybe she'll make the jump to elite world setter, but she's not even in the conversation yet. Lloyd does exciting things and is playing well. Hopefully she'll keep growing. To be fair, not a lot of setters in the world would be starting over Irina Zhukova Spicer had a pretty good match a couple of days ago in Champions League. She came in mid-match and played the rest of the way and was one of the reasons they won. You never know what could happen. A fluke accident or an injury to Berg or Glass (knock on wood) and Spicer might find herself in the Olympics. She just needs to keep competing.

From the Polish domestic matches and the CL matches that I've seen, A. Glass still doesn't look like she's back to the form she was in prior to the hand surgery. Taking into consideration how Hugh makes his selections, which I disagree with, I still think Glass will make the Olympic roster in spite of the play demonstrated by Lloyd and Spicer. Lloyd has impressed and continued to impress me. Leading the top standing team in the Italian League is quite an achievement for a first year professional player. She hasn't seen time with the A team and going into 2012 there really are not many opportunities for her to get that chance.

Spicer just led her team to a BIG win against a very good Turkish team consisting of Fabiana, Kim, and Logan Tom, just to name a few, just this past Tuesday. She is definitely still in the mix.

Becky Perry found a new team. She'll be joining Sonja Newcombe in Pursaklar.. Hopefully she'll get them over the hump. Newcombe hit .315 today but that wasn't enough as they feell to VakifBank 3-0.

Glad to hear Sonja Newcombe will finally be getting some help. She is Leading the turkish league in scoring and is clearly not the reason her team is struggling. Hopefully Perry will be able to shoulder some of the load. Turkey is definitely looking like the top league in Europe outside of CEV competition
Pursaklar vs Fenerbahce on Thursday. All the Americans in Turkey will be together. Tom, Newcombe, and Perry (if she is there yet?)

I'm new to this forum, so I'm just curious what your thoughts are about Kristy Jaeckel's and Kelly Murphy's careers in the pros?

Can we add that Michaela Monzoni (Hasalikova) who played for Long Beach State, is currently playing for VK Modranska PROSTEJOV

I'm new to this forum, so I'm just curious what your thoughts are about Kristy Jaeckel's and Kelly Murphy's careers in the pros? They're starting in Puerto Rico, I believe, probably because, in part, other rosters are full. If not the best league, certainly an exciting one. Murphy will do fine in the pros if she finds a situation that will utilize her unique talents.

Unless Murphy is going to immigrate to Cuba, she is going to have to pick between playing opposite or setting.

Stats here: www.tvf.org.tr/istatistik/pdf/2012-10-1-b--fener-pursa-pursak_report.pdfThat was actually Fener's A-team starting.... (Sokolova, Kim, Naz, Erdem, etc.) so very excellent for Pursaklar to take a Set, even if 3 and 4 were blow-outs. Would be great to see a replay. Glad to see Sonja could still score points. She had a lot of errors, but I think that might be more of a function of being on a vastly inferior team (esp. w/r/t the second contact).

Yup, any set win vs Fenerbahce is good.
Turkish league uses the 3 pt system so Fenerbahce still takes the maximum 3 points and leads the league in ranking.
Fenerbahce coach Ze Roberto said after the match, that they played badly in the first two sets but they played great in the last two. He also added that if they pass well, they are an entirely different team -- I would have to agree.
